Got lucky this time. Last summer I was trapped in an elevator when the 14th ConEd went.

Two dozen people are trapped in the building where I work in NYC. I missed it by 10 minutes.

About twenty minutes ago, we heard two hundred thousand plus could be trapped in elevators and subways. That's a whole bunch of folks....

Now reports power outages in Pennsylvania.....

Heard reports that over 200,000 plus may be trapped in elevators and subways....Dang..

If I had my choice, I'd rather be stuck in a subway. You're underground so it has to be cooler, plus a subway car is not as claustraphobic.

Being stuck in an elevator on a hot day like this has to really suck, especially if the elevator car is full, which there is a good chance that most were, since this happened at 4:00 PM EST on a business day.

Just an observation while watching TV. I live near Philly. Mayor Street was just on TV. NBC displayed his name 'Mayor John Street (D) Philadelphia'. The network then cut away to Mayor Bloomberg's conference. NBC displayed his name 'Mayor Michael Bloomberg New York'.
