"and A. Hilter was a Communist before he join the NAZI"///No, he never was. But Mussolini was a commie before he was a Fascist.

I appreciate the post. I knew that the Nazis got their ideas from the Communists but I was wondering if he had been a card carrying communist. Of course with a name like "German Workers Party" what else could he have been? It follows then that his power grab was more to eliminate the competition, the "socialists," than to risk sharing power with people loyal to Stalin. Had he tried to share power, they would have eventually assassinated him and the world would have had a communist Germany. It is history's irony that we ultimately sided with one communist who was at war with another communist who broke ranks and left the party.

According to "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich", by the time Hitler left Vienna for Germany in 1913 (age 24) he hated democracy, Marxism and Jews. Shirer provides no evidence that he ever was a commie, or even a (conventional) socialist. His thing was always German nationalism and racial purity - the socialists of the time allowed subhuman Slavs and Jews in the party! The Nazis who took the 'socialism' part seriously were purged in 1934 along with Roehm.

(I looked this up last night)

Hmmm...Perhaps, Someother sources was cited, by The History Channel...more sources, would have been helpful. That the problem, William Shirer's "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich"...is only one source. If the Soviets had been less Xenophopic after WWII...

LIke I said, Mussolini was definitely a socialist. IN 1910 he was editor of La Lotta di Classe (The Class Struggle ). Source
