No one in Utah was notified of the Grand Staircase Esclante deal. Not even the lone Dem congressman from my district. It was a sneak attack by Clinton and his minions. Gov Leavitt worked closely with Jim Hansen (retired congressman -R) to repeal the deal, but the courts ruled that what Clinton pulled was OK.

Will Utah say hello to Gov. Jim Matheson in 2004? Gag me. Matheson won't receive my vote in 2004. He is on the side of Hillary Clinton and elected by Salt Lake Lefties in the House of Representatives.

Obligatory Bush-Bashing: "Why would Bush appoint someone that comes from a state which has no environment to head the EPA?" Obviously a comment from someone that hasn't seen Utah. The most sane protectors of the environment are the folks of the Rocky Mountain states. My biased opinion. A son of pioneers. Utah & Wyoming.
