They're the glorified security guards who guard county facilities. They don't belong in this kind of situation, and provoked considerable unhappiness when they were discovered there. The rifle team'll replace them.

When they made the stop on that possible suspect a couple of hours ago I thought, "Oh great, the whole flippin' department is there and the guy gets caught by a security guard." Fortunately they've been spared THAT embarassment.
