You are wrong. The definition in the bill is THE definition of partial birth abortion as it was 'invented' and as it is performedI guess I should think you for clearing that up for me, but the links were a tough read. The cavalier tone of the clinical definitions the doctor gives as he describes how his new method of D& E differs from the classic one is frightening. It was sickening as I read further about the inventor's own definitions, examples, and number of these procedures he had performed: induce early fetal demise, dismemberment, performed over 700 of these procedures. Are you sure the language in this bill puts an end to these types of procedures?

Once a long long time ago when I was young and completely stupid I bought their crap.It has been my experience that people with dubious intentions always target the young. It is easy to manipulate people who lack real life experience.

It was 48 Republican Senators, including every one of them who ever told us they were pro-life, who put their name on a bill that says; Roe v. Wade was "appropriate." This is a clear, unambiguous reaffirmation of the illegal Supreme Court decision that started this whole mess back in 1973. If I had not read it for myself I would not believe it.
False. Only eight Republicans voted for that amendment.

Any doctor who performs a PBA will have a lot of explaining to do and will likely end up in jail if he can't prove it was necessary, which would be nearly impossible to do.
No, not really. Not as I understand this legislation.
What this bill does is define which PBAs are legal, and which ones aren't. PBAs are illegal if the baby is fully crowned, or if, in a breech delivery, the navel is visible. Furthermore, those PBAs that are illegal are defined as such only if they were intentionally illegal.
So, a woman walks into an abortion mill intending to have a legal PBA. She goes into a room with a doctor and nurse who intend to perform a legal PBA. Some time later, all three emerge from the room and the woman's pregnancy has been aborted.
Did a crime take place?
How would you know?

It has been my experience that people with dubious intentions always target the young. It is easy to manipulate people who lack real life experience. Yep .. A while back I remember reading a thread about the DC Chapter freeping someone .. I can't remember who it was.
Anyhow, some folks that weren't Freepers came by to talk/help with the freep .. a couple of them were adults and a couple of them were young college students ... Terry Mcauliffe came out to talk to the group .. except he didn't talk to the DC Chapter or the adults .. he went straight for the young students. I don't remember what he said to them or if it was mentioned on the thread .. but I do remember his actions, it was very telling IMO

Thanks you guys. It's kind of frustrating that President Bush just can't catch a break, no matter what or how much he does. The man just cannot win with some people.

And by the way, if you really want to get a feeling for what this administration is doing to advance the pro-life cause, do a search and check out some of the hysterical reaction by the pro-abortion forces out there...they are NOT happy with President Bush. Not one little bit.

No Joe, I think you actually have it the wrong way around. This passage is being used by some disgruntled elements with no power whatsoever to effect any change to attempt to stir up discontent amongst those who are actually doing something.
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet
He will never catch a break from the fools brigade. People just have to be careful to not be caught up in their lies and fabrications.
If folks think only the Democrats are out to defeat the Republicans they need to look again. At least the Democrats are honest in their intentions.

Some time later, all three emerge from the room and the woman's pregnancy has been aborted. I give up .. this issue has been discuss over and over. You obviously don't like the answers that I and many others have given
Fine .. let's just throw the whole damn bill out and forget about it. Why bother trying to make any steps in the right directions because it won't stop all abortions
And if I sound flip, I am

The ban says:
`(a) Any physician who, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, knowingly performs a partial-birth abortion and thereby kills a human fetus shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both. This subsection does not apply to a partial-birth abortion that is necessary to save the life of a mother whose life is endangered by a physical disorder, physical illness, or physical injury, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself. This subsection takes effect 1 day after the date of enactment of this chapter.
This is their definition of PBA:
`(1) the term `partial-birth abortion' means an abortion in which--
`(A) the person performing the abortion deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living fetus until, in the case of a head- first presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother, or, in the case of breech presentation, any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother for the purpose of performing an overt act that the person knows will kill the partially delivered living fetus; and
`(B) performs the overt act, other than completion of delivery, that kills the partially delivered living fetus; and
What is defined above is banned, unless it is done to save a mother's life. Congress found and declared that it's never medically necessary:
The Congress finds and declares the following: (1) A moral, medical, and ethical consensus exists that the practice of performing a partial-birth abortion--an abortion in which a physician delivers an unborn child's body until only the head remains inside the womb, punctures the back of the child's skull with a Sharp instrument, and sucks the child's brains out before completing delivery of the dead infant--is a gruesome and inhumane procedure that is never medically necessary and should be prohibited.
It also says the father, if married to the mother, mother, or grandparents may file a civil suit against the person who performed the PBA and basically milk them for all they are worth.
Did you read the text of the ban or just what the article highlighted?

Don't let them upset you, they're meaningless and they know it. They have absolutely NO political power to change things. They have NO morale voice because most of the population has no clue that such political parties actually exist; of those who do only the most disgruntled give them any stock.
They can't affect change, they receive little attention and Conservatives aren't joining their causes; they're loosing ground. All they have left is complaining and trying to drop a Baby Ruth in the punch bowl while repeating themselves constantly.
In other words, they're miserable as well as being ineffective. Just be happy you're not one of them and be aware of what their motives are.

Didnt the President ask for and get a bill declaring a "fetus" to be refered to as a human (or a baby or something) for legal purposes? I seem to remember the feminists and other baby-haters spinning in circles about it because it put into motion exactly what you want. Rights for the unborn that are identical to adult rights.
It's a backdoor to banning abortion and the Left knows it.
