And do you wish to remove the ability of doctors to make that decision if need be?So you would give a doctor a license to kill solely on his own arbitrary whim? If a doctor says so, it must be so? What kind of monsters do you support, anyway?

Extremely rare Fred, not non-existent. If that was your wife or daughter who needed that extremely rare procedure...what would you demand?

Not a doctor, a nurse. Don't you believe doctors, when they say that there is NEVER any medical reason for a partial birth abortion? I do.

Point to ANY doctor who says that there is a medical reason for a partial birth abortion to save the mother's life.
Any doctor.

According to the great weight of medical opinion, partial-birth abortion is never indicated.
If I'm not mistaken, that's the position of Majority Leader Frist, as well.

And do you wish to remove the ability of doctors to make that decision if need be? I think I understand your point Luis .. but I agree with Judith Anne .. I see no need for PBA and I don't by the excuse the libs use about saving the mother's life

I give doctors the license to save lives.
Let me ask you as well Kevin, if carrying the pregnancy through endangers the mother's life...too bad, she dies?
She does not get a choice?

Jim,
It is my personal belief that this is a part of the democrats strategy to divide and conquer. Just like they now call talk shows and sign up on Free Republic pretending to be Conservaties.
They know that they cannot destroy President Bush head on, but they hope that by spreading lies and creating desention by their fifth columnists to nibble away his support bite-by-bite.

Fair enough. I just happen to know personally one of the posters mentioned, and I don't believe it's the case that she doesn't "give a rats ass about the aborted babies," or that "this is politics to (her)."

From the THOMAS transcript of the 3-13-03 Senate floor debate:
MR SANTORUM (addressing Mrs. Clinton):
"So you don't think the American public understands this issue well enough to be able to form a judgment--I think that is what you are saying--even though we have debated this issue and it has been very much in the literature across America now for 7 years. There have been referendums in States and wide debate. You just don't think the public understands it. I beg to differ with you on that. I think I could stipulate that something that has the support of 70 percent of the public is, by definition, not extreme. So if you don't agree, that is your position, and I respect that.
"The other thing you said was the chart I had up is ``deceptive.'' I am very curious about how you came to that conclusion. Is it deceptive because it shows a perfectly formed baby?
"Is the Senator aware of Ron Fitzsimmons who runs the Association of Abortion Clinics? He has said, when the argument was made by many of the people Senator Boxer and Senator Murray and yourself referred to, who came forward and talked about this being medically necessary or necessary because of complications late in pregnancy--Ron Fitzsimmons said he lied through his teeth when he gave that argument? That was his term. He said, ``I lied through my teeth'' that this was the case. He said it is a dirty little secret, and we all know--those are his terms--that late-term abortions are performed, and the vast majority of late-term abortions are performed on healthy mothers with healthy babies."
