Given as many legislators voted to keep us in the UN
wonder how many will support this at the 11th hour?

Wait till all the combat vets come back from fighting for the freedom of Iraqis only to find out that their leaders will have sold them out to the criminals of their homeland
Allowed to carry a machine gun grenade launcher etc to free Iraqis they will be jailed for keeping a rifle or handgun to defend their own families from murderers rapists thieves
or even from the very same terrorists they fought in Iraq who have invaded through wide open borders...

And to think that many of us are actually sworn to defend the Constitution against ALL ENEMIES, foreign or DOMESTIC . . . .
We have done a lousy job of defending our Constitution from these creeps, I would say.

the right of the people SHALL NOT be infringed. (unless some people want to)??????
Whatever happened to the law that all new bills have to cite where in the constitution they are derived?

My only comment is that if this thing gets to Bush's desk, and he signs it--he will have gotten his last vote from me!

Is this the ban extension that the president endorsed or is this one that he claimed to be for so he could pander for more votes and then claim amnesia after the tv cameras were turned off?

I strongly agree, but I can't imagine that this bill will make it past the House.

It will make it.

Rest assured, there will be a well-publicized shooting with a semi-automatic rifle while this bill is being debated. Take it to the bank.

It appears that we need to let our legislators learn an old Western phrase that is not used as often as it needs to be -
"Get a rope!"
To: conservativefromGa
`(L) A semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General. In making the determination, there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any Federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.'. That's a total ban if a bad AG comes in.
I will not vote for anyone that backs this. Period.

OK, I read the whole thing.
What's the point of it, and why would anyone support it?

I most stongly object; the Dragonov is in no way an"assault rifle."
It is, instead, a dreaded "sniper rifle."
And a damn good one, at that.

'Don't Be A Menace'
Funniest movie I've seen in a long time.
When the one goofy Wayan asks 'Do these Nikes go good with the TEC9?'
