Given the choice between removing the Bible verses from the Grand Canyon or barring the ACLU from the Grand Canyon, I don't think there's any question about what the correct answer should be.
Or, hire professional "pushers" and when the ACLU types show up, "push" them over the rim.

I just visited the Grand Canyon in May with my wife. We laughed at the atheistic naturalistic lecture on the geological history of the Grand Canyon. My wife was elbowing me to remind me to keep my mouth shut and not embarrass the tour guide. It was laughable how he just spouted these "just so" stores about the age of each layer. It really brought home to me that the U.S. Govt has violated the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution by pushing ATHEISM as its official State religion.
It's quite obvious that an epic flood could create such a canyon in mere weeks.

We have no right to be reminded of God even in the most innocuous of settings.

The mis-guided liberals in this country will successfully dismantle the entire foundational structure of our society - starting with the Bible and Christian precepts - and leave a vaccuum.
The vaccuum will be filled with a demigod finally getting elected, and the country left to wonder how it happened. The Clintons are a perfect test case for the feasibility of this happening.

Or God could have created them JUST the way we see them now.....just to make us curious about His worksand marvel at their beauty.

when the ACLU types show up, "push" them over the rim. It has been the history of religion to kill non-believers.

I would like the ACLU to show exactly where in the Constitution it says that you can't have plaques up with quotes from the Bible.... or from any other religion.
Amendment I of the Bill of Rights precludes the Congress from making any law "respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech..."
I, for one, don't what some plaques with quotes from the Bible put up by a religious group have to do with Congress establishing a religion. Further, I think taking down the plaques is an abridgement of the freedom of speech of the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary.
The ACLU continues to undermine the values and traditions of the United States and wants to turn this country into something that it was never intended to be. The ACLU and the radical left present a grave threat to the American way of life.

Ya gotta wonder why people who were closer in time and understanding to the actual founding fathers' intentions for the Constitution didn't have a problem with posting Biblical stuff on public property.

It has been the history of *man* to kill those who differ with them. It's not specific to religion, but people use religion as a cloak for evil. The best disguise for evil is one that appears good.
"John 16:2 They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. "
Just because a group of religious people kills doesn't mean secularism is any better answer. Secular people kill, too.

"Leave it as it is. You can not improve on it. The ages have been at work on it, and man can only mar it."
-- President Theodore Roosevelt, May 6, 1903, at the Grand Canyon.
Too bad the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary can't take the advice of one of our greatest Republican Presidents.

I seem to remember that many states had to hold their nose to allow some states to keep slavery, in order to get the Declaration of Independence signed by them.
We took care of the slavery thing later.

Good idea.
An example is the SASS website, which has a quick and dirty method of editing and/or correcting a previous post comment.
You just click on a small icon at top of the comment you which to alter.
It also allow the user member to completely delete their own posts.
NYT Forums has the user-delete feature also.
A so many leftwing screwballs it it mindboggling.
Or is that "mindgoogling" as the UN did about that Iraq/OldYellerCake/Niger deal.
My head hurts now.

Can you think of any examples where a flood of mere weeks has done something similar?
