"Most psychopaths are very arrogant and cocky. However, when charming a potential victim, they say all the "right" things and make you believe they are kind-hearted souls; not always, but often enough. The psychopath is filled with greed inside, relating to the world through power."
"With the further consideration that all this skein of apparent madness has been woven by a person of (technically) unimpaired and superior intellectual powers and universally regarded as sane, the surmise intrudes that we are confronted by a serious and unusual type of genuine abnormality. Non-victims cant understand this, but the psychopath really does suck the life out of a caring person. I try to think of them now as a slimy suckerfish right out of the swamp, vacuum-lips out and prowling for someone vibrant and attractive to con and eviscerate.
The recent debate is, does such amoral apathy from our modern day panem et circenses really affect everybody? We often stereotype the lower class as being culprit, because they are less cultured than those with an education. For this very reason, director Stanley Kubrick depicted psychopath Alex in A Clockwork Orange, as a lover of Beethovens music;
also, in his last film, Eyes Wide Shut, Kubricks upper class was both cultured in a saccharine manner, yet party to the deplorable moral corruption taking place in covert.
" At the end, Alex is "cured" of his conditioning under government auspices and begins a new career in government service ("we always help our friends, don't we"). It is clear from his power and sex fantasies which close the film that he is not cured of his psychopathy, and that
he will now continue his exploits from a position of even greater power than before. The final fantasy of him reveling in a sexual orgy while being applauded by many figures in Victorian garb may be symbolic of the forthcoming social sanctioning of his libertine behavior. "
