If the spectre of hijacked airliners being used as missiles had been raised here ... wow, that would have been too plausible to ignore or forget. With the Egyptian Air suicide crash and the TWA "accident", I never imagined the 9/11/2001 concept. But ... all Bin Laden needed to do was watch the Japanese Kamikazee pilots in any WWII movie to be inspired I guess. They understood the payload that a fully fueled aircraft targeted precisely at a structure delivered.
It would never have crossed my mind that the Captain of a Commercial airline with 92 people on board would relinquish control of his aircraft to Arab terrorists who threatened to slit a Flight Attendants throat. They weren't hijackers, they were suicide martyrs and any seasoned Captain and Co-Pilot should have calculated that imminent lethal doom and fought the terrorist to the death.
I read one report where the flight crew was taken to the back of the plane and restrained. Can you imagine the despair those pilots experienced the last minutes, knowing they had sealed the demise of all their passengers, and enabled unknown additional carnage, through their lack of courage and duty?
What a tragedy that the crew and passengers couldn't trust their instincts and survival warnings to act as individualls and as a unit. How do you cower in your seat while you see the Manhattan skyline drawing near with your plane being piloted by Arab hijackers weilding box cutters? On a flight from Boston to Los Angeles? Nobody figured it out or summoned the primal power to survive I guess.
Freepers would have delivered a razor blade suppository to those scumbags. There aren't a lot of shrinking violets in this joint, male or female. That's why we annoy each other so wonderfully. The people who died in the Towers and at the Pentagon were poorly served by their countrymates that day. The folks on Flight 73 stepped up and fought for their lives valiantly, and saved the lives of unknowable fellow Americans in the process.
God bless all those murdered on those planes, but dammit ... there were five scrawny Arabs with razor shanks on those planes. The folks who were vaporized in those Towers deserved better.
Bush did not change the policy.(Don't you think the press would have mentioned it if he had?) All he did was call the Palestinians on their lies. There will never be "separate states" or as Hillary accidently blurted Clinton's wish of "a Palestinian homeland", because everything will eventually come down to the final issue: the Palestinian "right of return". This will never happen since it means the end of Israel.
Everyone knows that's the poison pill Arafat will use to keep the war going.
