But I do note with mild distaste the salivating joy and slathering zeal some posters are displaying which I believe betrays a covert disire to silence the pro-life side.Point out one post. Otherwise, you're full of $#it.

Sarcasm is cute, but he should be careful - if not for his own sake, for the sake of the reputation of this forum.

Nice platitude.
Violence based extremists relative to the times in which they existed have had a profound effect on history...good and bad.
What about John Brown (not a fav of mine naturally) but a hero to the social moderate crowd around here?
To: MHGinTN
Thanks. I take back my previous posts. You should make yourself clearer next time!

Everyone said if the FBI would leave he would walk out of the woods by himself and he did. I know they have a job to do, but they all thought some hillbilly was hiding him. I really beleive he acted on his own. These people here need money to bad not to turn him in.
I agree--but I was one of those who thought he was either dead or in Europe. I really didn't think he could survive for five years in the woods--a year, maybe, but not this long. He may have just been tired of hiding, but he probably didn't plan on getting caught just yet. He really exposed himself when he came into town.

The sake of the forum?
Sweetheart, we can't control who accesses this place.
The FReeper in question is arguably the most active anti-abortion activist on this forum...all within the law to my knowledge.
Folks are always dumping on him for his views and are just using his innocent confession as further ammo for their own perspective.
That tells me quite a bit about where they are coming from as well. Many many here masquerade as anti-infanticide when they feel the heat but in reality...they are fakirs. Conservatism to them is lower taxes and a strong military....the culture war is for we "talibanistas" as they so kindly put it.
Time was cultural conservatism defined a conservative as much as any other benchmark...now we are diluted by our own success.

Ok..

Nobody does. Who thought he'd be caught, much less caught in Murphy, North Carolina, dumpster diving at 4 a.m., by a rookie cop to boot? Well according to the policeman this morning, he was in the middle of the road, not 'dumpster diving', and then ran back behind some crates to hide

You can release the details of the affidavit without disclosing the persons involved.
The identity of an informant can often be deduced by the information they provided.

I will not condemn one that risk his own life for the cause of life, while the rest of us pretend we are getting somewhere after 30 years has gone by.It's perfectly okay with you that Rudolph set back the pro-life movement by a decade while not actually saving one human life? He galvanized the abortionists and made them "victims."
To: billbears
I stand corrected. The first reports also had it as a Piggly Wiggly and it's a Sav-A-Lot.
It's still amazing that a 21 year old rookie cop made the bust--even though it was a sheriff's deputy that IDed him. I'm also amazed that that rookie cop could handle the media pressure with such aplomb.

Everyone said if the FBI would leave he would walk out of the woods by himself and he did.Heck no, now they've got to do some more investigating, run some calorie charts, and of course it is summer time. That means low flying planes looking for 'crops' in the Cowee Valley. At least they used to do that a few years back. LOL!!

Understood. It just disgusts me how even Fox News was painting that part of the state at first. As for the officer? I'm thinking that boy's going to get himself a g-man badge in a few years in lieu of the 'reward'

Did you hear John Walsh on Fox? He stated he had a contact whose cousin was helping Rudolph evade capture...
To: Catspaw
I think he's also accused of bombing a gay bar in Atlanta. If this is what I think it is, the son of a very nice, strong Christian lady whose book I edited was in that nightclub. Thankfully, he survived and was OK.

I think you are correct on the point that he was just tried of hiding. He wasn't what one would call a local. We all thought he was dead or in Mexico.I am anxious for all the details.
It is shocking he made it this long in the woods. One thing might be we had a cold winter and alot of snow.
To: Vinnie
Rudolph's name appeared for the first time few days - four days I think - after Monica Lewinsky exploded (pardon the pun) on all TV screens.
Now, and then, think for a second: at that time, all media was 110% percent saturated with the plump intern, talk of impeachment and resignation. What would an abortion clinic bomber gain by commiting his act at that time? Nothing but deflect some of the media attention from Clinton.
And then the circus-like manhunt that followed, and Rudolph being accused with Atlanta, and gay bar bombing, and more and more.
And for 5 years - read again, five - hundreds of FBI men cannot find him.
Strange.
Something smells bad here.
To: Delphinium
I can't condemn this guy for having the courage the rest of us don't have. I'm pro-life. Are you saying that the reason I don't bomb abortion clinics is because I'M A COWARD!??!!?!?!?!?
To: wardaddy; MHGinTN
I think the post has the potential of making this site look bad.
I expect more in that regard from people who have made a home here than I would from some nut that just popped in. I don't think MHG really *was* trying to make FreeRepublic look bad, but it could easily happen if someone read that post and left the thread (which I nearly did myself, it made me so sick).
I merely asked him to please be careful. I'm a little surprised anyone would object to that, but then, there's a little surprise for me just about every day around here.
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet
I know...but you love it...just like me.
If we all thought alike....we'd be bored to tears.
