and, don't forget that i'm a tree worshipper and want my tree gods in there!

i wrote "trees" in for my religion when i went into the military in 1965 and they were not impressed.

i was forced to find another religion.

>> Leaders also stressed a reference to "Christian values" would make it more difficult to accept a mostly Muslim country such as Turkey.

Maybe something like "Congress shall make no law respecting establishment of religion, nor prohibiting the free excersize thereof". Rather inclusive, don't you think (maybe borderline genius)?

The exceedingly cheesy Captain Euro comic attempts to build pan-European nationalism on a foundation of the continent's pre-Christian religions.

Yeah, I know. But I tell you what. Working with chemistry and fluids, metric is the only way to go.

agreed ... one time in Engineering Chemistry, my lab partner asked if "that beaker is the 0.10 molar ammonia solution?" ... I got a little too close ... didn't pass out but couldn't take a breath for, oh, about 30-40 seconds ... oops ... big oops ...

LOL Oh, lord. You remind me of my learning that things that look alike don't act alike. I handled a white sodium hydroxide tablet without gloves because anything looking like an aspirin must have the same properties. Luckily, there were no scars.

>> I remember in the 70's how America was "doomed" if we didn't convert to the metric system ...

Yeah. British subjects were only recently forced to adopt the metric system, in the name of "globalism". It's not highly publicized outside of the country, but the Brits hate the metric system probably more than we do. We dodged a bullet there, I think.

Several years ago I bought some knocked down particleboard cabinets that were made by an outfit called Sturdi-Craft in Klamath Falls Oregon. On the package it stated the weight and dimensional information of the product, in lbs. and inches, of course. The last line of this decriptive info added the statement, "Metric is un-American". Gotta love an outfit like that.

I don't think God is in the U.S. Constitution either. God is in the soul of America. Putting God into the supreme law of the land will only get you places like Afghanistan. So I'm really sorta glad he isn't in it.

Well, at the very end right before the signatures there's the "Year of Our Lord" before the date of signing but that's pretty much generic boilerplate that any document of that type would have.

God is notably completely absent in our Constitution's preamble, and everywhere else in the Consititution.

yep it was like somebody hit me between the eyes with a 2x4 ... LOL ... takes your breath RIGHT AWAY ... man ...

reminded me of that train wreck in the USA about 15-20 years ago where the Ammonia tanker broke open ... people tried to drive through the "fog" not knowing what it was ... of course, their cars stopped right in the middle of it and they tried to run ... fatal concentration is 300ppm if memory serves, and there were readings of around 10,000ppm near the rail tanker car ... ouch ... double ouch ...

Makes me glad Hamilton had the foresight to change our monetary system to metric over 200 years ago. However, on Jaywalking there was still a student teacher who couldn't answer the question "How many dimes in a dollar?"

I don't get what you all have against metric.

from the Book of Acts ... KJV

Acts 1
25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the Eleven Apostles.

There was a time when film developing chemistry used a formulin fix hardener so the emulsion could take some handling without damage. That meant manipulating glass jugs of formaldehyde.

I was in a pro lob once when someone dropped and broke a jar of it.
We opened all the doors and vacated the lab. But formaldehyde has a habit of hanging around in areas not fully ventilated. Hours after the lab was aired out, you could walk down a hall, turn a corner, and oh, momma. My sinuses were roadkill.

haha ... owning a British car, a Japanese car, two American cars, and a Japanese motorcycle, my toolbox is a random mix of metric / SAE wrenches and sockets ... the only thing I'm certain of when I pick up a tool is: I don't have the right one ... just changed the battery in my '86 Corvette and I think it is a Communist Conspiracy how they put that thing in there ... of course the easy way is to drop the panel behind the tire, BUT it wouldn't start ... so I couldn't move the wheel too good ...

Thanks so much! I have read that the 12 disciples will sit in judgment with Christ of the 12 tribes of Israel, and I wondered who the 12th was after Judas failed to believe in God's forgiveness and hung himself.

Yes, whenever you get to feeling down on yourself,
just remember that even Jesus Christ blew one out of twelve. :)

The draft European Union's proposed constitution leaves out mention of God and Europe's Christian roots, despite strong pressure from conservatives and the Vatican, and amid fear of alienating Islamic immigrant populations, reports the Italian news agency ANSA.

It almost makes me wish the Berlin Wall was still in place. At least back in those days it was easier to tell where the commies were.
