Well, darn! I'll miss your informative and funny recaps of the shows... but I guess some things are just more important. ;)

Yep, it's those darn, stinkin' priorities gettin' in the way of having fun. NOT!

Yeah, couldn't you have timed this a little better? Tell the kid to wait until the season's over. It's only a couple of weeks now.

All scheduling complaints have to be filed with the Project Manager who is really tired of being pregrant.

"pregrant" (?) - Good thing TAR4 is going to Korea because I would fit in well with my Engrish.

I didn't realize you could get a grant for that, albeit post-natal evidently. What a country!

Considering that the US Government will underwrite research on farting cows and the like, I'm surprised someone hasn't tried it yet.

Congrats, jriemer!! Wow, that's great news for you!

(Hey, speaking of engrish, I watched a show called Banzai last night that was hilarious. You ever seen it?)

I'm sad you won't be posting TAR4 posts anymore, but I understand. Duties first!

And tell your wife congrats, too! Any names picked out?

>>>PS – Rest assured, the child’s name will not be Tian, Jaree, Chuck or Reichen.

And it sure as heck better not be Kelly!! ;)

So j, I was wondering...about that job-filling duty...how much does it pay?? :))) Seriously though, I could try and post very basic box scores as I did once before when you were gone. Maybe someone else could do play-by-plays. Whaddaya think?

The pay is amazing, more than your wildest dreams and 100x better than what anyone gets (is worth) at Salon.com

I don't care how you or anyone else splits up the writing load. Just keep the TAR Freepers happy, that's a tall order. 8^)

PS - Rest assured, the name ain't Kelly either!

Just tooling up the TAR thread after last night's episode.

In a nutshell, Team Invisible and Team Clown found a great flight via Hong Kong that got them to Seoul first, but Team Frilly was the first to the challenge (nearly going into the DPRK in the process).

The challenge was a ballbreaker - strip to your underwear and swim abut 30 or 40 feet under the ice of a frozen river.

The roadblock had the most disgusting food challenge I ever saw - live, raw, chopped up octopus.

Non-elimination this round. I was disappointed that Chuck and Millie weren't there at the ice - his misery amuses me.

The octopus tentacles kept on crawling for quite a long time after they were chopped up. The teams were expected to down quite a large plate of them while they were still wriggling.

Koreans must be insane to consider that a delicacy!

I had to get up and walk around when Team Frilly was gagging their way through that - it made me sicker than hell.

Personally, I would have paid money to have Kelly and Jon get strangled from the inside by the octopi; however, it was really funny watching them break the boards. Jon unleased 10 Legs worth of pent-up agression on them and shattered them easily. Kelly had a difficult time until Jon told her to "imagine my face on the boards" - then there was nothing left of them but toothpicks. They'll be a fine married couple.

You're right. Millie / Chuck would have been a fine addition to this episode. Chuck would have been a popsicle and beat his hands to a pulp wihtout breaking a single board.

Amazing Race FReepers!

I, 4mycountry, am going to hereby give you the basic happenings of TAR4! Aren't you so happy? *crickets chirp* tough crowd...

OK, let's race! (BTW, if my spelling sucks, it's not my fault. I was too busy writing down stuff to pay attention to the names)

Teams:
Team Frilly
Team Foam Nose Patrol
Team Kravitz
David and Jeff

Teams left at the last pit stop of the race, the Sepaloc Nature resort. From there, they receive instructions to go to a Buddist Temple, and search through hundreds of tiny Buddah figurines until they find one that has their name written on it. It contains a key that unlocks a tan/bamboo bag containing the instructions to the next destination.

Apparently Reichen and Chip have no sense of the race. For about two minutes they just stared at the temple, and then joy-of-joys, one of the Frillymen says a prayer for the rest of the race. Buddist Gays, comin' through! *gag*

Their next destination is the Nem Sem Park in Seoul, S. Korea. The teams head off to the Malasyia Airlines airport and try to by tickets to Seoul. Team Frilly is the first there; Team FNP is second; David and Jeff are third; and Team Kravitz is last.

After the flight, however, positions change: Team FNP moved up to first; David and Jeff moved up to second; Team Kravitz moved up to third; And Team Frilly got booted to last (yay). The main reason this happened is because of the severe language barrier. Practially none of the taxi drivers could speak English, so finding a good cab took a whole lotta time.

Once they get to the Nem Sem park (or whatever it's called), they get yet another set of instructions. Now, they must go to the Sundam Valley, and find the Route Marker on the bank of a frozen river. Inside is a Road Block. Once again, positions change: Team Frilly is first; Kelly and Jon are 2nd; David and Jeff are third; and Jon and Al are last.

Remember, a Road Block is a task that only one member of the team may perform. In this Road Block, that person has to swim under the ice-covered river from one hole to another. When they get out and their bodies get to a safe temperature, they are given directions to the next destination.

Teams must travel back to Seoul and find Subway station #228. Somewhere in the terminal is the Route Marker. The positions of Team Frilly and Team Kravitz remain the same, but Team FNP and D&J change ranks.

Once the teams find the Route Marker, they find the Detour inside.

A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons. This Detour is between Strong Stomache and Strong Hands.

In Strong Stomache, teams must find a restaraunt eat a Korean delicacy: chopped-up live octopus. It's a simple place to find, but eating live octopus can be quite gross to Americans.

Yes, you read it right. LIVE. That means it moves on your plate. Gross, huh? Well, who better to do it than Team Frilly. They quickly discovered it was not such a simple task. After all, octopus have suction cups on their tentacles. Guess what they do on your mouth and teeth? Uh-huh. David and Jeff also started this, but decided against it after a few bites and went to Strong Hands. Smart choice.

In Strong Hands, teams must find a martial-arts instructor and, using his instructions, break several wooden planks with their hands. It's a hard task, but if they do it correctly, teams can get through quickly. Was anyone else frightened when Kelly broke all the planks of wood when Jon said "pretend it's my head" ? Creepy. oo;;

Once Teams completed their tasks, they received instructions to go to a palace whose name was too long and funky for me to write down. The scores are as follows:

1st: Team Kravitz *nooo!!*
2nd: Team Frilly *double nooo!!*
3rd: Team Foam Nose Patrol
4th (normal elimination): Jeff and David

HOWEVER: This was the second non-elimination round in TAR4, so David and Jeff are still on. Yay!

Hope that satisfies your TAR4 itch! And jriemer: my check better be on the way to Valhalla. See you next week!

Race on!
