TRUST ME, my little tiny lawnmower mowing my little tiny front yard ain't gonna make a bit of difference in the overall smokey air problem! But of course they HAVE to get in a few jabs at evil people like me who mow our little postage stamp lawns once a week.

They wouldn't dare say anything about the poor indigenous peoples who HAVE to burn their fields to compete with the Norte Americano corporations.

...and don't forget we have lots of alligators here on the coast and sometimes in Houston.... Biggest one in my neighborhood, so far, was 11 1/2 ft. long.

"We may even get rain in Austin this week, and it would give us a whole day or maybe even two days of relief."
When the smoke particles get washed out of the air by rain, guess where they go - into your water. Smoke particulates are also very acidic - hence "acid rain". There are large areas of the Northeast & Canada where the trees are dying & lakes are becoming too acidic for fish.
Welcome to the brave new world of Global Economy and free markets. Mexico & other countries take US jobs and give back pollution.

Where in Pacif. NW? Visited Pacific Grove last year on vacation before we moved from LA to Texas in Nov. Had a horrific storm blow through one night while there.... Hotel lights went out! They had to close 17 mile drive, the waves were crashing over the road! It was exciting....

Stop complaining, you used to live East of L.A. like I did. This is good air in comparison. :)
