My brother is in his 20th year with the US Navy, was in GW1, in the Persian Gulf during the Afgan War....He stayed stateside this War. But I constantly tell him how proud I am of him and grateful too!
Tommy Franks reminds me so much of my late father-in-law! Amazing. He was a Captain in the Navy and fighter pilot in World War ll. My husband served in Somalia and Kosovo. Both of my brothers were in Gulf War l. Our son is a Captain in the Engineers and his unit was put on alert. You should be so proud of your brother. They all make us safe!

We'll rally around the soldiers, SG. Did you see the Americans who came to support the troops in DC yesterday? Outnumbered the organized, pre-planned, well-financed ANSWER protest down the street. The good guys are in no mood to put up with the silliness on the left. The tipping point has arrived for America, imho.

I HOPE SO.
I was in tears yesterday reading on here about FReepers that went to the funeral of a soldier like that. It does my heart well when I see the pride of Americans like that.

I like that term, tipping point. I have enjoyed learning about all the new terms, phrases that have come out with this war. Shock and Awe is a good one.

We found the opposite. In October, no one in Paris ever broached the subject of U.S. policy toward Iraq. Nor in Brittany.
It was in southern and central France---the Dordogne and Loire regions---where we ran into the anti-American sentiments. Mostly it was people sitting at tables next to us in retaurants, one was a woman at her news stand. They would just butt in and start telling us George Bush is "dangeroux" or "Americans just don't understand how the world works.
I like to think that today those people are left wondering what world they were living in....Rummy would call it the "Old World". I just hope they're saying: "Je pense que je suis abusif".

I am so sick of the sour-grapes out of the French!! Now they are saying that they will TRY to block anything the US does in postwar Iraq if they don't agree with it. Pompous ba$tards make me sick.

of course Jessica Lynch as been approached with thousands of books and movie deals- while exploiting is another issue altogether; I think the movie would be great with the reunion of the 507th at the end. Oh wait, that's not a movie -that's real life !! hooyah.
To: The Wizard
With the MOAB!! Might as well, it's already in the area!! ;0)
What makes them think that if they couldn't stop the Coalition from doing what was imperitive in Iraq, that they could do anything to stop the same Coalition frome rebuilding Iraq and giving those long-suffering people a better life?? The French didn't care enough in the beginning...why should they PRETEND to care now!!!
