Hey, the UN is even jumping on us. As soon as we liberated Bagland they complained we were letting the hospitals get looted.........nothing about the ammo, torture chambers, murders and minor atrocities the Iraqis performed in those hospitals that we stopped. Why couldn't they be quick on the draw for something useful?

Very good news on the hit tonight! I love the way our fearless military remains on track - focused, awesome...in spite of the chaos and opining swirling around them.
...and Chemical Ali is still dead. (^;

well you are nice and only here for six days,,quit trying to shame us ole timers. Thanks. :-) I try to be nice, but in my exhaustion, I know I sometimes resort to the "Oh yeah? Well your mother..." line of dialogue also.
The people who are most frustrated with this thread are not the ones who are on it 24/7, and not the people who know where to find the news. They are looking HERE for the news, because that's what the thread title implies would be found here. You're right, I've only been here for 6 days... which meant I had absolutely NO idea that this wasn't the best thread to find news. I NEEDED NEWS. Problem solved when a Freeper showed me where to find the news. Whew... cool... now I can join in the wankerisms, which I also love.
Does that make more sense regarding the frustration that people show towards this thread? It's simply confusion about the TITLE vs. what actually goes on here. If you're looking for a QUICK news update, this is the wrong thread. If you have time to join in, you will get more details, more breaking news, more sides to each story, and more real-time analysis of what the story actually means. Classic example is when the Palestine Hotel was "hit" -- We dissected that story in real time. We assessed the angles of tragectory, the speed of tank rounds, the battle damage assessment vs. what our tanks can actually do, the possibility that it was a planted/suicide bomb, etc. You don't get that in the Breaking News summaries. But if you have only 15 minutes to drop in for a "quick war update" you don't have time to read the entire as-it-happened dialogue on the incident. You want "Just the facts Ma'am."
It's not about the thread police. It's about frustration with the Thread Title vs. what is actually posted... frustration from IGNORANCE about where to find the news when you want it. I include MYSELF in that category! I was ignorant about this entire website, and about where to go to find the news headlines/summaries. I "belieeeeeved" this was the correct thread. So I was frustrated. Now I know it's not the best thread for a quick news update, but it's the best thread for 24/7 BagCam / War News mainlining!! Informative AND fun!! :-)

So us number crunchers and use the 10 key without looking.
The same for typist with the bumps on the "F" and "J".

say again, why don't we want the kurds to get there first?Heh. I think it has more to do with the Turks and awkward diplomacy than that "bloodbath" / "Kurds wiping out the bad guys" thing.

this is the only thread I read, probably because I love the morning coffee chat that it comes with, when I need the news and quick..I ask for a fasr summary, and an awesome freeper always obliges right away.

DEM HOUSE LEADER PELOSI TOLD REPORTERS THURSDAY: 'I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REGRET ABOUT MY VOTE [AGAINST] THIS WAR. THE SAME QUESTIONS REMAIN. THE COST IN HUMAN LIVES, THE COST TO OUR BUDGET, PROBABLY 100 BILLION. WE COULD HAVE PROBABLY BROUGHT DOWN THAT STATUE FOR A LOT LESS'...
But I bet it cost more than that to get her face lifted!
