Your sister needs to get some help, eh? In our family... the nephew is as good as a son.....so if the sister is single.....time for her brothers to give this kid an attitude adjustment and pull his plug.

My Mom's sister (who is living with us after her stroke 2 yrs ago) has a worthless 30yr old son who stole everything she owned and it resulted in her losing her house and having to go bankrupt, just after retirement. He has been put on notice that if he ever darkens our door.....he will be arrested or shot. Whichever is most convenient of course. :)

My Aunt ruined her life catering to this bum.....and that's HER problem. Now her fate is to rely on the help of her relatives....because she didn't have the guts to say no or press charges against this bum of a son.

I've found that a lot of immigrants simply don't have anything going for them back home, or are fleeing their own bad choices.

Several friends in Ukraine tried to have themselves declared "yevrey" (Jewish) in order to immigrate. Free room and board, lots of TV channels - even in Russian. Rabbis are mad because these "Russian Jews" run butcher shops that sell pork in Israel.

The Russian immigrants come from such a chaotic, dog eat dog society they are hard pressed to adjust to normal civilization. Just look at the Russian enclaves in New York. Gangs, lawlessness, and every societal disfunction.

Can't speak for New York, but here in Maryland we have a very polite and industrious Russian Jew population. Nothing like what you describe.
