Here's the floozy from USA Today: Tell us about Tikrit.
A: Tikrit is stronghold used by regime...command and control centers there. Tikrit has not escaped our interest.
To: Dog
Tom Mintier: AHA! You said you misspoke!
To: umbagi
These people just don't get it, it's not the fault of the military that targets end up including civilian areas.
Note to whining journalists: IT'S THE REGIME, STUPID!

Dog, I remember reporters from either the 1st Gulf War or the bombing in 1998 saying that the Iraqis had put an anti-aircraft unit on top of the hotel they were staying at, but they didn't find it out until after they'd left the country.
To: Mjaye
French Beeb: Are you seeing defections, how about paramilitary?
A: Haven't seen the most loyal defect...no fighting between paramilitary units...won't discuss further.
To: prairiebreeze
Yes we did.....it seems some Rackies were shooting from the hotel the reporters are staying at.....and a tank hit it.

Translation: Can we still hope for a quagmire up north?
A: Don't worry about it. You said that about Baghdad, too...
To: prairiebreeze
We hit the Palestine Hotel--the one the journalists stay at. Killed a producer for al Jazeera and Fox (one person), and now a Spanish reporter has died as well. Four to six people were injured.
To: Dog
Ahhh, and the reporters are all in a snit I gather. Anybody "causualized"? Either Rackies or 'porters?

A poor Al Jazeera reporter got killed at the Palestine hotel. So the mediots are whining about it. Why are you shooting at us? Don't you know we're at the Palestine?
To: Timesink
Offensiveness: Wendell Goler smugly shaking his head and saying "So we're back to where we started from -- did we get Saddam or not?"
No, Wendell. We're not back to where we started from... OUR FREAKING TANKS ARE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE A- RASHEED AND THE PALESTINE HOTEL YOU MORON!!!!!!!

Anyone see that gathering/demonstration on NTV cam just now? Anyone got a clue what's going on? Lots of people gathering, moving to the right, lots of chanting a minute ago, then the sound went off...
Anyone else watching the NTV Cam? I hear chanting and see a (growing?) crowd around that looks like it's just to the side that the NTV camera is turned to. (I'm personally hoping it's an Anti-Saddam rally, and hope I don't miss them tearing that d*mned statue down, but won't hold my breath.)

Mornin' all!
Question: Can anyone tell me if Bagdad-Bob got his nickname here or did it originate somewhere else? If it did start here then I"m sure Fox is lurking here because Fox & Friends are calling info-dude that now.
