I'm about 1,700 posts late...but, THANK YOU for the thoughtful layout of today's thread.
May God rest the souls of the heroes who have given their lives in freedom's fight and protect all those still in danger.
We will never forget.

Yes we did.
Iraqi Snipers were operating out of the Hotel which mad it a military target - some reports suggest that the were firing RPG's from the hotel.
VERY limited attack. Confusion as to exactly what was used.
To: An.American.Expatriate
Great.....Haven't read anything yet but if snipers were in the hotel it was a legitimate target. If reporters we killed/injured that is unfortunate, however this is war and they know the risks.

Me, too, I just got back up to see what's been going on. I hope Achmed didn't get hit, he was kind of growing on me.
Has anyone seen Pretty Boy/Mr. Chicken? I was thinking last night that the hotel would be a perfect place for snipers, since they would think we'd never bomb it with the journalists there. Then I wake up and it's been hit!

Baghdad Bob came on just after and delivered his usual BS - US forces being surrounded and defeated - hundred miles away - long live Saddam - etc...

So we know Bobby is alive, not in with Saddam and Friends. Hmmm. How fortuitous. I still wonder if he's really with us... In any event, they need to do a flyover when he's talking, run some tanks by, blow up the statue, whatever. Did he broadcast from the roof again, or somewhere else?

I see. I woke at 3am and saw that the AJ reporter was dead... it seems he was standing next a AAA gun. But decided to go back to bed....:-)
