When I read and hear about innocent Iraqis happy to see us. EPWs, for crying out loud, HAPPY to be prisoners of the coalition! I have read so very many stories about disappearances during the night, never to be seen again, tongues cut out and left to bleed to death (even just this week), public hangings, rape, suspending naked women upside down while menstruating, executions, public and otherwise, then, the discovery this a.m. of hundreds of coffins....and this is just the tip of the iceberg of stories to hear....it makes me sick to think about.

I have a great setup at home too, but now there isn't any electricity there. I am waiting for the hotel check-in time and thinking about going to get a new laptop. This ice storm is getting to be expensive. Trees down, refrigerated food lost, most expensive hotel in town because they have room service and FNC and now maybe a new laptop:)

We need to air drop Michael Moore over there, so they have a matching pair...

OK, that does it! As soon as I can tear myself away from my computer, I'm going out to buy a little TV to set by my desk so I can read and watch at the same time. OMG.....I've been thinking of doing the very same.....nooooooo, I'm not addicted to FR....
To: Dolphy
My goodness....hope you don't have ice storms very often that result in loss of electricity. You'd go broke!

ditto, it all reminds me of a movie I saw about the torture practices of Hitler. I cannot believe the UN and a lot of the world did not want to help these people! Horrific!

I am very curious about what the review of Iraq's financial records will disclose. I expect that might answer a lot of questions regarding why some were against this war (and in France's case, under any circumstances )

honestly, it's sadly not that ucommon in many countries
My mom works with a guy who is a political exile from china, he was involved in organizing the tienamin square protest, his dad was an anti-communist revolutionary who was killed by the communists, he has some awful stories to tell of his life in china

Bombs sirens again.
To: Green
I agree. France does not want anyone in Iraq. They're hiding something.
Is that wind noise?
