BillF had his digital camera with him but I don't know if he employed it.Got a few photos, but battery went out before Gary Bauer stopped by.
Cong. Tom Davis (R-VA 11th district) went by, but was crossing to the other side before we saw him. We shouted greetings to him as he and 2 or 3 aides passed by the leftists and police to enter the building.

Today, I did a one man Freep of the "Women in Black" in front of the Texas State Capital.
My objective: Do not let them finish their day without at least someone giving them hell.
There were about 10 of them and I gave them a punishing brow-beating. It is my therapy.
For those who don't know, the "Women in Black" are a pro-Palestinian group.

I, FReeper rogue yam, went by the lefty shout-in at
FOX-TV in San Francisco today. I got there at about
12:20 pm. They had about 30-40 people. A real scraggly
looking bunch it was. (Hey, don't laugh! I mean even by
comparison to their usual low standards.) It was so
lame I didn't even bother to get out my sign ("I Support
Pres. Bush") and stick around to FReep the sad sacks.
A more pathetic smattering of super-annuated hippie
re-treads and manly women you could not imagine in your
worst nightmare. They had one shrew spouting inanities
through a bullhorn and everyone else just stood around
looking stupid or bored or something. Medusa Benjamin,
a semi-famous local loudmouth was there encouraging the
harpy with the horn. (Apparently Medusa's commie-funded
group "Global Exchange" was the "sponsor" of this debacle.)
Just as I got there the shrieker announced that they were
going to "march" over to the FOX-TV office door and present
the poor souls there with some sort of commie propaganda
and a journalism textbook. (This was the big laugh-line
of the whole event. If you're looking for it to get better
stop reading now.) She then announced the chant for the
march which went something like: (I swear I'm not making
this up) "Objective Journalism, Dead and Gone/ FOX is in
Bed with the Pentagon." (I think these folks just need
some lovin' bad or something.) So with a gray-bearded
burn-out tapping out a hilariously ill-matched rhythym
on a snare drum they ambled about 20 feet (!!!) down the
sidewalk to the door. They barely got through their
stupid chant once! By this point I was feeling so sorry
for them I just left as it seemed too cruel to stay there
cracking up at them.
All together they managed to occupy about a 20 foot stretch
of a very narrow sidewalk and perplex a couple dozen
passersby or so. (FOX-TV is in a rather non-descript
building in an out-of-the way location.) None of their
signage made any sense at all either except for this one
scrawny Jewish-looking gray-haired post-hippie dude
with some sort of Arab flag and a sign that said "No
More Blood for Israel" with the letters dripping blood.
Well, ok, that doesnt make much sense either.
That is my report.

"one scrawny Jewish-looking gray-haired post-hippie dude

I remember this guy. Roaming counsellors are desperately needed for this pitiful rabble.
Good report. I'm sorry I didn't go.

Among the leftists' signs:
SUPPORT THE TROOPS BRING THEM HOME NOW
RABID FOX INFECTS THE MEDIA
GEORGE W. BUSH THE BUTCHER OF BAGHDAD
The guy who brought the Rabid Fox sign was walking the last couple blocks next to me as I approached the protest about 10 minutes before the start.
I had the text of my signs covered as I walked. The Rabid Fox Hater saw that I had posters and said "Are you going to Fox?"
"Is that up here?" I said.
"Yeah, I think Fox is up here," was his reply.
"They're great!" I said.
"I guess you're not going. Never mind", he said.
He walked up to about 15 other protestors and about 25 police officers. Rabid guy stood near a police officer who told him to stand an a different side of a planter.
I didn't hear Rabid guy's reply, but it displeased the officer greatly. the officer went into an obscenity filled tirade about standing in the heat (it was sunny with a high in the lower 80s) and threatened to arrest Rabid if he didn't move immediately.
I watched and anticipated an arrest, but Rabid moved.
I crossed the street. Angelwood arrived shortly & we checked in with officer near us & set up across from the leftists.
Free the Hostages was across the street wearing her box-sign and crossed to our side. Kristinn and JVB arrived separately a few minutes later.
Another sign that I saw near the end of the event was SWEAR IN PRESIDENT GORE. My camera battery wasn't working & I couldn't get a photo.
I wish I had gone across the street, taken a photo of the President Gore sign, and laughed at the guy up close.
I should have told him, "I hope that you keep that sign and use it for the next 20 years." These guys are really living in the past.
Near the end, some of Code Pinkos started chanting GEORGE W. HITLER. Hope that all the media use that for their report.
If they're going to chant like that about an extremely popular President, they will drive people away in droves. The only thing worse for their PR would be to block traffic. Oh, wait, they do that to.

Apparently Medusa's commie-funded group "Global Exchange" was the "sponsor" of this debacle.Good recon report.
Global Exchange is one of many Commie fronts, including also Code Pink, that Baghdad Benjamin & allies have setup.
Like a tobacco or other company that markets essentially the same product under different brand names to target different demographic groups, Benjamin et al have set up various front groups to target specific demographic groups: students, housewives, left-handed leprechauns, etc.
Code Pink is marketed mainly to peacenik leaning women with Medusa & cohorts softpedaling the Marxist language to bring more people into the group for contributions and attendence at rallies etc.

Below is the UPI story quoting both Kristinn and your humble writer, but it doesn't really say that FR/DC was out protesting the leftists.
Kristinn, did you think that Code Pink had 75 in their rally?

Anti-war activists picket Fox News
By Omar Melhem UPI Correspondent
From the Washington Politics & Policy Desk
Published 4/3/2003 6:59 PM
WASHINGTON, April 3 (UPI) -- Anti-war activists gathered in front of the Fox News Channel offices in Washington on Thursday to protest the network's coverage of the war in Iraq.
Organized by Code Pink, Global Exchange, and Media Alliance, the event drew about 75 protesters.
In a letter to the bureau, Code Pink told Fox News it not reporting the events in Iraq objectively.
"We are writing to remind the Fox News Channel that according to your own promotions, you are supposed to be 'fair and balanced,'" the letter said. "You seem to have forgotten this motto in your coverage of the war in Iraq. You also seem to have forgotten some of the basic precepts of journalism -- such as the one that journalists are supposed to report the truth."
A Fox spokesman declined to comment.
Yu-Lan Tu, an organizer with Code Pink, said Fox is glorifying what is in her view an illegitimate war and acting as a cheerleader for the war effort.
"They're the most pro-war channel in the U.S. -- they forgot that journalism is about objectivity," she said. "They don't cover casualties, they don't report about deaths and damaged infrastructure."
Gael Murphy, a documentary filmmaker who has been to numerous anti-war protests, said she decided to attend the rally to tell Fox News they were not living up to their motto of "fair and balanced reporting."
"The American people have been fed biased information from the media. There is no link between Iraq and al-Qaida -- intelligence agencies have not made links between Iraq and al-Qaida," she said.
But Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the Washington Chapter of Free Republic, told UPI he believes the Fox News Channel is being fair and balanced.
Bill Floyd, a member of the Washington chapter, said journalists at Fox News have been objective in their reporting.
"I think when they do straight news, it's straight news. They tell it like it is," he said.

Great report Rogue Yam. Thanks for doing a one-man show, although by the sound of it, these retreads barely rated a FReep!

A more pathetic smattering of super-annuated hippie re-treads and manly women you could not imagine in your worst nightmare.Since I am in the DC (Falls Church) area, a response.
Last Saturday I was driving up Broad Street (Rt. 7) and Lee Highway (Rt. 29) which is the "center" of Falls Church, Virginia, a midscale/upscale DC burb.
And what do I see but a stakeout of peaceniks on two of the four corners (a fairly busy suburban intersection). Blase signs ("Bring the troops home") and V signs at passing motorists.
What was most striking was that they were all manly women, mid/late-40's with LL Bean jackets and sweat pants. Greying bob-cuts, the grey proudly displayed. Save-the-whales types. Leftie soccer moms dreaming of their 1972 DC march-ins, mixed with lesbie man-women.
My spontaneous reaction was with my brother the next day: "It looked like a lesbo protest for worker's rights."
I didn't have any counterprotest signs in the car, so there wasn't much to do.

these retreads barely rated a FReep! Yeah, you know once I got back to the office I did regret not getting my sign out just for a minute and FReeping them a bit. This because Medusa and her thoroughly unhinged flying monkey had made such a bother of themselves at our wonderful Rally for America last Saturday. I had deliberately chosen the message on my sign ("I Support Pres. Bush") because while it would seem like a sentiment perfectly within the range of the normal to an ordinary sane person, to a Bay Area lefty wingnut it would be as though I was advocating... what? Satanism? No, nothing wrong with that. Bestiality? Well, no, to each their own, I suppose. Oh, whatever. My point is it would have set them off for sure! Sitting here at my keyboard, thinking back on last Saturday, I feel well hey they deserve what they get. But seeing them in their pitious irrelevancy I just couldn't bring myself to further kick them to the curb.

"They had one shrew spouting inanities through a bullhorn and everyone else just stood around looking stupid or bored or something."Or "something"?
How about drugged and burnt-out from 40 years of illegal drugs?

Do we have to have "Belly Girl" on every thread on the FReep? I don't want to deny the guys their fun, but enough already!
