why the clumsy one line press briefing? Probably as a way of expressing dissatisfaction with certain networks that ran their mouths and broke the story before centcom was read... "Oh, so you already reported it? Well, fine, then you got dragged out of bed for a one-line statement. Take that, blabbermouths..."

Shoshona Johnson is the other woman still being held captive.
Praying for all to return safely.

My question is, What about the other POW's? What about the two pilots of the Apache? Where are they? It seems impossible that they would find this girl, and none of the others.
I have a sinking feeling in the pitt of my stomach is that the only reason they kept this poor girl alive was to sexually abuse her. There's no other reason.
It doesn't matter, though. She's alive. Score one for us. I hope our SEALs killed dozens of these f- ing animals...

You go girl! My thoughts precisely!
To: Benjamin Dover
My prayers go out to her as well.Me too. I'm really afraid for her. I'm afraid for all of them.

My source said that they heard it reported as a rumor on it was on WBAP news talk radio about 0820 on 3/31. This person is in El Paso Texas. The lady rescued is from Palestein Texas. The person said they heard it once and didn't think about it the Centcom briefing today.Palestine, West Virginia, not Texas. Palestine, Texas (or Palestin, I forget which one doesn't have the "e") is where a lot of the shuttle debris fell.
I too have internal network chatter "confirming" several deaths in the attempt, but not the same number you reported, so I'm not going to post it. If the numbers are wrong, part of the story probably is too.

That's right - from the southwest somewhere, like New Mexico or something? Navajo, I think. I had forgotten about that.

I saw an NBC interview with her parents (Shoshonna). Her dad's a vet from the first Gulf war and her mom works on base. She has a sister on active duty as well. My heart really went out to them - unlike some other parents we've seen they were a proud military family. The mother said she felt worse for the Marine who came to tell them of her capture than she felt for herself. They apparently had seen it on TV earlier and knew even before the Marine came to the door.

She's a Hopi Indian from Tuba City Arizona.

I hope that they haven't given us that brief press conference because they will later announce bad news about the rescue. They might be giving us a little "afterglow" without all the facts. I hope I'm wrong.
Jessica's from Paletine, Virginia. Hmmm. Palestine. I wonder if that for some odd reason was in her favor. I hear her wounds were treated by a doctor.

I'm gonna get lost in the crowd but this is important news: Think for a minute:
1.) you have to find her - the Iraqis control still thousands of square miles of territory.
2.) Then you have to physically locate her.
3.) Then you have to get to her.
4.) Then you physically have to do the snatch.
5.) Then you have to get the hell out of there.
6.) Finally you have to get back to friendly territory.
This makes the Iraqis look like the bumbling misfits that they are. Put this is the context of putting hundreds of thousand of boots on the ground, decimating the Iraqi army, destroying the Iraqi air farce, driving within 40-50 miles of the capital, all within two weeks. And finally they can't even keep a prisoner secure. As the policeman said in the first scene of "The Matrix" "We can take care of one little girl". Unless you are an Iraqi.
LOL a hundred times over.

I can't help but wonder what is the agenda of people on FR who attempt to ruin the great news of one of our POWs being rescued by using the opportunity to bash CENTCOM and General Brooks. I hope their motives are clear to all.
