The federal law would trump the state law in that case.
It took a long time for a state to get Jack Kevorkian. There had to be some alterations in laws, and then he had to do it again, after the changes. Why did it take a long time for him to be prosecuted successfully? B/C people kept saying the victims had consented to being "assisted" in their "suicides." Consent is the key here, also.

It has traditionally been against the law to commit suicide. However, I know of no successful prosecutions of successful suicides.

What do you want--examples? I heard it used to be a crime in Canada, but that it isn't a crime there now.

Hey, YOU!!!!! Sorely missed your smiling face!
If the state says the fetus is a person, but then a woman exercises her right under federal law to abort, wouldn't she (and/or accomplices -- another debate) be subject to prosecution for murder under state law? Or does that "right to choose," being federal, block a state case?
What planet have you been on, Girl? That's what we fight about all the time in FR. Conservatives argue that states should have final say in what goes on in their respective states; Libs all think the federal gov't has the final say. IMO, fed law almost always trumps state's rights. LOL

if Laci was alive, she would have been found,Hardly........If she were dead, it would be much easier.
My money is that she is in Northern Canada or Alaska.
