Dead Enders fighting on in delaying tactics.
Part of Iraqi strategy as figured we'd have to bypass towns in the Baghdad push and are using irregulars to harass our supply line and draw away resources.
Seems if we had cut bait in Turkey earlier we'd have plenty of follow up troops to secure our flanks and lines and clean up these irregulars.

A tank drove simply over one of the vehicles without firing a shot,Also known as "beercanning" the vehicle.
while a Bradley raked the other vehicle with gunfire.
For sale: Toyota pickup truck. Needs new engine, suspension, and extensive body work...also needs remains of previous driver and passenger hosed out of the cab. Make offer.

One soldier with the 3rd Infantry Division, a loader on a tank, was killed on Monday. Also two tanks and one Bradley fighting vehicle with the division's 3rd Regiment, 7th Cavalry Squadron were destroyed by anti-armored missiles. Officers here believe the missile may be a new Russian variant, known as a Cornet, purchased despite United Nations sanctions on arms sales to Iraq.

Wow. The Iraqis are mind-numbingly incompetent. Why they didn't blow up every bridge on the Euphrates is sheer stupidity. True, we could have constructed pontoons, but that would be delayed us and left us vulnerable. The thrusts of this armored divisions are textbook Blitzkrieg operations. For example, no one analyzing the German invasion of France in 1940 criticized the planners for leaving the Maginot Line untouched. The UK media announcers and commentators are far more educated on miltary doctrine than our own and have made this point.

Kornet (AT-14)
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/at-14.htm
In October 1994, the KPB Instrument Design Bureau introduced the Kornet (AT-14) ATGM system. The Kornet was developed introducing a laser beam-riding missile with automatic command-to-line of sight (SACLOS) guidance. The operator simply has to keep the sight on the target to ensure a hit. The laser beam-riding system is also less vulnerable to countermeasures. The Kornet was specifically designed to replace the Konkurs, which has been in service with the former Soviet and Russian armies for over twenty years.
The Kornet, which has a claimed ability to penetrate 1100 to 1200 millimeters of steel armor protected by explosive armor, provided a formidable antitank weapon system. However, even with the improved capabilities the Kornet has over earlier systems, an ATGM with all-weather, day or night, immunity to countermeasures, and fire and forget capabilities was still highly desired.

That was when the report was filed. We're now a lot closer to Baghdad. Look at at the date of the report.

It seems we're killing a hundred Iraqis per one of our own, yet the media makes it sound like we're losing or tied. By my simple calculations they will run out of soldiers before us.

I wonder what that pickup is worth on the Iraqi scrap iron market.

They are beyond incompetent. I call it stupid.

1100 mm of armor, works out to 43 inches and change (at 25.4 mm per inch). I sense some serious POO or Putin in the air here...

So, the Russians violated UN sanctions and are supplying the Iraqis with new, prohibited weapons.
Time to start arming the Chechen rebels.
