Why do you say turning Baghdad into a hole? To say one person must obey one side of the rules while the saying they may not respond to the other side breaking those same rules is not a realistic view. During the Italy campaign in WW2 the Germans used a church steeple as a sniper nest, it was removed post haste. I do not know if you will find this referenced on the web. I was told of it by the man that did it, and he didn't seem to sad. Do we need to throw the rule book out the window no. Neither should we be limited to only one side of it either if the other side will not use it. There are stated actions that are allowable in certain circumstances of breaching the rules of warfare.
1. Those that use civilians as cover validate the use of force in which those same civilians are injured or killed.
2. Those that do not present themselves as a organized force do not have the protections afforded those that do. It is spelled out how to do this.
3. Those that violate flags of truce/surrender are responsible for the actions that result.
As for the rebuilding Of Iraq I feel that it is within the power of USA and British people to rebuild that country with out the UN not the governments but through a free market. How much is it going to cost? How much oil does the USA and Japan import every year?
I keep hearing about the costs of this war. I want to see someone compare it to the total cost of 9/11. Total cost of which is property, human life, real lost of revenue, and the costs of all future/current security resulting from it.

I haven't had much time to talk lately.....my mom's been in the hospital and I'm consumed by the war (worrying about a young Marine from our church). I'll still be around.

You can tell though that he is one mean SOB.Oh yeah. I totally agree. He has that calm demeanor that former military men who can kill you 50 ways before you know your dead all seem to have.

LOL!

FoxNews won't do that! They care about what their audience thinks. I'd sit through 4 hours of Greta to get 5 minutes of Rick Leventhal.

Yeah, I never read the book but I heard it was originally arab terrorists but was changed to neo-nazis? Is that true?Exactly true.
Do read it, or at least listen to it on unabridged tape. It's very good.

I'm REALLY thinking they will do the Greta type coverage of the war. To spread out the work-load. We'll have to see. Even Shep's time slots (noon and 4 pm my time zone) have been war coverage. In fact.....I think Shep has been doing the yeoman's part of taking up the slack.

I thin Saddam filmed a bunch of clips regarding different possible things, like the american control of Umm Qsar, and othe cities then he also made tapes regarding things that didnt come to pass, then his men took all the clips and spliced them together so it'd reseble a recounting of recent events
