Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Powell says despite press reports, Turkey has not crossed the border. They are working with us, and at this time have no intention. Says situatioin could change, but right now no Turkey incursion.
Powell also says they have given evidence to Russians, who so far say they neeed MORE evidence. Powell is 100% confident of the information about the Russian arms, and is very concerned about this. Stuff Russian companies provided could cost American lives.
War is proceeding well.
More people are joiing the coalition.

I really wish you would cease rationalizing what was done to our service men and women.
The Red Cross is on record as this is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention.
I'll say no more unless you persist, but I have plenty to say if you keep harping on your ill-founded point.

the media is uniformly reporting nothing but negative news today. What's keeping me going is the certain belief that wer're pounding the snot out of the RG.

Pants down - my guess is they wanted to check to see if they had a certain medical procedure performed. (i.e. Are they circumcized and possibly Jewish) [ Maybe they aren't aware that a large number of Americans are circumcized ]

Have you heard any of the 1st gulf war POWs talk about their experience while being a POW in Iraq? I have and I don't think Iraq deserves the benefit of the doubt here. Not in the slightest way!

I forgot that he has very heavy looking man-sandals on, too.
Oh, and we can't forget that there is either an acoustic guitar or one of the big stand up drums (like a giant bongo) in the corner. Hanging on the wall or from the ceiling- his bike.

I saw the head wounds. Some of these soldiers were killed with their helmuts off. Other wounds I judged as close range, therefore, 'execution style.' Based on the Iraq TV video I saw yesterday.

Thanks, CG. FR University's Profs aren't Commies. Yea!You're welcome! Even in the College of Science, the unquestioned left-wing assumptions got a little (all right, a lot) tiresome...

Agreed, lots of hand-wringing on media today. Their attention span is short and they are getting fidgety

It has to do with the notion that Iraqi TV is controlled by Iraq, but CBS is not. Only nations and their representatives can be in violation of the Geneva Convention.
