I didn't say her death was funny.
But it wasn't tragic either.
She deliberately put herself in harms way.
If you go and deliberately jump in front of a bus, thinking that the bus will stop, well, you have nobody to blame but yourself.
And considering that she died, WHILE DEFENDING TERRORISTS, who do deliberately kill innocent people, I don't see that she deserves any sympathy.

Tell you what, I'll make you a deal: You preen yourself on your high moral ground; I'll hate my enemies' guts. Deal?

The tanks on Tiananmen sqauare were there specifically to hurt the protesters. The protesters, where NOT interfering with anyone, they merely expressed their opinions. There is a huge differenceI'm with you. I think you meant to address this to one of the Moral Crows cawing at me.

Lived there, saw that!

LOL That was funny!

Sorry, probably.
I think sometimes quoting someone can appear that you said it, it happened to me on occasion too.
Later I saw one of your other posts, that made your stand obvoius.
I think one of the problems is that some people seem to use moral equivalence between the terrorists and us or the Israelis who are defending their population from said terrorists.
I am getting tired of trying to "understand" the motivation of the terrorists and their supporters. As far as I am concerned, they declared themselves our enemies by their words and actions and should be treated as such.

Have you'all noticed the vein or protest among our Moral Crows? They are sad because
1) it's a human life,
2) she was American (legally, at least),
3) she MIGHT have grown up to be a decent person one day.
1) I personally don't mourn every life that passes. OBL is human too, but when his day comes I'll be doing dances that Grandma Palestine could only imagine, cause I'm younger and more limber.
2) She might have legally been an American but being American is more -- and less -- than simply being born on the soil. I know naturalized Americans who are true to our ideals above and beyond anything this woman evinced.
3) she MIGHT have grown up to be Susan Sontag, too.
Nope, I stand by my emotions. I hate these people. I don't think "hatred" is necessarily bad. I think hating cruelty, or evil, or one's mortal enemy, is perfectly normal and human.

I've been sitting here thinking about your losing your friend of so many years, but you did the right thing. What you did sets an example for all Americans to follow. We can no longer afford to harbor any friendship that is going to result in betrayal of our country and our people.

Get lost blockhead. You are the most self-rightous sniffling pious bag of self-important pus since OWK used to waddle hereabouts. LOL!! I know I called you snippy the other day, but I have to admit, you can sling an insult pointy-end forward like few others.

I intend no offense but respectfully submit that lower-case republicanism is no mere "political stand," it's a form of government. The only form of government worth having, really, we're in complete agreement on that, but one that these people will destroy in pursuit of their ideology, by fair means or foul, given half the chance. The "total destruction and ending of America as we know it" is precisely the goal of the Rachel Corries of the world.
One certainly hopes that ballots will ultimately suffice to contain this danger. However, there are times, as in Chile in 1973, when a nation's options dwindle to either bad or worse. When one has a sense of world history and considers leftists' totalitarian norms, contempt for law, and will to power, in conjunction with the general public's constitutional ignorance and apathy, it is not unreasonable to fear that Americans might eventually face the same choice as Chileans in 1973. If that day arrives, "no way in hell" and "never" won't cut it. The Constitution is not a suicide pact.
Please don't accept leftwing propaganda about Pinochet so easily. Leftists trash him for good reason for he was the only person to ever stop one of their revolutions cold, killing fewer than 3,000 people in the process, and ultimately restoring both a destroyed economy and a chastened people to constitutional government. No, it wasn't pretty, but those who do not obey democratic norms, though elected democratically, rightfully forfeit the civil protections democracy otherwise provides. Considering the only likely alternatives - civil war or party dictatorship, either of which would have cost far more lives - which would you have chosen? Just pray that we as a country never face a similar decision.

The only thing she would have grown into would have been another Jane Fonda clone. She was well on her way.
I hadn't looked at Michael Rivero's website in a long time. I decided to go look. He had all of these bloody, gorey pictures of dead Palestinians. But NO dead Israelis. It was like no Jew had ever been killed. In fact, he failed to mention that those dead people were in retaliation for blown up buses, etc. where dead Jewish bodies were just as gruesome. War is not pretty - for the innocent or the guilty. Just thought I'd mention that. No reason in particular.
Except - maybe - it's because I worry about our poor kids so much. That girl made a mockery of every one of our military men and women who becomes the ultimate sacrifice for our land.

If she'd been a true patriotic American, she wouldn't have been there in the first place. Instead, she chose to side with the enemy and met a tragic end.Speaking as someone who became conservative in my late twenties I can tell you that there are lots of liberal influences on both high school and collage students. The student teacher relationship is very powerful. A liberal professor or teacher can have a huge influence on a student. There is a quote attributed to Winston Churchill (I dont know if it is actually his or not). "If you are not a liberal at age 20, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative at age 40, you have no brain." While the quote may be a bit of an overstatement, we should remember that youth and (misplaced) idealism can result in strange ideas. Standing in front of a bulldozer is to say the least at the far end of stupid.
It is likely she believed she was on the side of good. She probably thought she was standing up for American values; she was certainly mistaken but does that make her a trader or just an ignorant fool?

Now we'll have to endure a flood of leftists and anarchists waving her bloody shirt in our faces.
The fact that she was aiding terrorists will be blissfully ignored.

Ha...
To: TheLurkerX
That is very different, from an American citizen going all the way to Israel, to defend terrorists and to prevent Israel from protecting their own citizens from terrorists.
Much as I have not sympathy for her, I am also quite certain that the bulldozer driver did NOT run over her deliberately, but by accident. She was sitting down and he may not have seen her, or he could have been sure that she will jump away at the last minute.
I think trying to present the bulldozer driver as the "savage", is very unfortunate. The savages are the terrorists who blow up innocent people in malls and university cafeterias.
To: It's me
So when such sweet, "uninformed" kid is about to detonate him/herself, killing hundreds of innocents, would you shoot her, or not, because she is "uninformed" and let her proceed with her murderous activities?
Those who are literally standing in the way of justice against terrorists are no different than the terrorists themselves, regardless of how they try to present themselves.
All terrorists will explain to you that they aren't really terrorists, they are just fighting against the "Great Satan", the US.
It's your choice, whether you feel sympathy for the poor brainwashed terrorists or their innocent victims.
To: Friend of thunder
Traitor or Ignorant Fool ... It doesn't matter. The bottom line is still the same. Her actions clearly indicated she was working to subvert the United States government. This latest (and last) incident was merely a continuation of other activities she'd been involved in. Did you look at those pictures of her? The one in a "chicken suit" and the other one burning the United States flag?
I know "trader" was a typo, but it rather fits ... she traded her life for an ideology that wasn't worth it in the end.
By the way, my children and grandchildren had/have the same type of teachers and professors you're talking about. There's not a single liberal among them. Of those, there are 3 in the medical field (including doctor) and two are public school teachers - all fields of endeavor known for their liberal proclivities. So all is not lost with our education system. I'm mentioning this, because I know young parents are really scared about it. As long as a child is taught to think for himself, truth will triumph.
Look at you ... you figured it out, didn't you?!! :0)

If your sadistic spirit is what conservatism is all about, it just might be time to critically re-examine my precepts.
