"They have marched and chanted, hoping to use persuasion to prevent war. If that fails, though, activists are readying a more aggressive strategy of sit-ins and social disruptions, meant to restore peace in Iraq.
Protest sit-ins, especially at federal buildings, defense recruiting offices and military bases, have been mapped out for dozens of cities in the first day or two of any war, anti-war organizers say. Some also foresee widespread walkouts at schools and workplaces. A smaller number talk of blocking roads and bridges.
"Once war happens, there will be civil disobedience. It's bringing to a higher level what people have been doing," said coordinator Bal Pinguel at the American Friends Service Committee, an arm of the pacifist Quaker church."
It will be great to see some of these guys get their "pacifist" heads busted!

I think they plan to be violent and this is coming from commies not just a church!
As Michael Savage said how did we grow these kinds of idiots in America?

Any "protestor" stupid enough to interfere with the US military in a time of war, such as blocking base entrances and sabotage, should be tried for such crimes, aggressively.

No, maybe they could just round them all up and ship them to a nice "camp" for a while - Ft Greeley Alaska would be nice - and they could come back when the War on Terror is over. (In 5-10 years.) Kodiak island would work as well - wouldn't even need any guards, just drop them in by parachute and resupply them that way as well (occasionally). The bears would love 'em.

sit-ins and social disruptions, meant to restore peace in Iraq
Gen. Franks: Mr. President, I suggest we call back the troops. I watched the hippies launch their "sit-in" campaign and hundreds of people are showing up 15 minutes late to work. It touched me. I feel guilty all of the sudden. We MUST end this war. We must give peace a chance, Mr. President! Retreat and restore peace in Iraq, Mr. President!! PEACE NOW!! PEACE NOW!!! PEACE NOW!! PEACE NOW!!!

I have a suggestion for them: come down here to Texas and stand in front of our cars and pickups when we're in a hurry to get somewhere. They'll have to be hosed off of our radiator grills.

These Maroons will wind up on the same ash heap of history as the screeching hippies of the '60's.

Yeah, there's a guy up in the S.F. Bay Area who tried to stop a military supply train back in the 60s heading to Alameda Naval Air Station (as I recall) by lying on the tracks. He now walks with prosthetic legs. I don't think he was prosecuted for war crimes but he paid quite a penalty. I've had enough of this 60s nonsense -- off with their heads!

AP's promoting these rallies - days of free PR w/times, locations, contact names...and leaving out the anti-Bush, anti-Semitic, anti-American themes...pushing the "love and peace" and leaving out the "hate and lies." It's propaganda and it's wrong.
Just got back from a Support our President/Support our Troops rally in Ventura (Southern California). About 75 of us showed up. Tremendous response from drivers - lots of passionate honking and thumbs up. Organizer said he couldn't get any interest from the press because it wasn't a "pro-peace" rally.

By dismissing those who support our President, those who elected a GOP majority last November, the press - the left - is trying to overthrow the "will of the people" and muzzle mainstream America. Forget that.

I remember that very well - I was in high school and we were trying to get one of my friends' older brothers to take us downtown to try to score with some Yippie chicks. In retrospect, we all were probably a whole lot better off not going.
