EXACTLY! Today the AP is reporting "ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (March 6) - Osama bin Laden is alive, in good health and living in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the suspected No. 3 al-Qaida leader told his interrogators after being captured last weekend, a Pakistani intelligence official said Thursday. Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, said he met with bin Laden in recent weeks using a complicated network of phone calls, runners and intermediaries to line up the visit, said the official, who participated in the interrogation."

If we didn't already HAVE Osamma bigLabia, why would we let this intelligence out to the press for him to be tipped-off and escape? ANSWER: WE'VE GOT HIM! Which is what the Prez's announcement will be tonight. Bet on it. Ahhh, the sweet smell of victory!

Some middile east expert on FOX yesterday said they may be hours or days away from getting OBL or his family...so it could be true.

The whole Iraq situation is a case where I wish Bush had listened to Teddy Roosevelt: "Speak softly and carry a big stick." He should have spoken to the world and the UN in the mildest, most conciliatory tones, all the while building up US forces around Iraq. Then, after striking Iraq with everything we have, Bush should go on TV wringing his hands, expressing disappointment, and talking about how we are still hoping to achieve a peaceful settlement. Had he behaved so, most of this background noise from France, Germany, Russia, and the protestors could have simply been sidestepped - they would have had nothing to complain about.

We conservatives like to hear bellicose speeches, but Bush's advisors should have warned him to follow the Teddy Roosevelt path on Iraq and not play to the home crowd. Now he is going to have problems to deal with for years after the war ends.

"President George W. Bush scheduled a formal White House news conference tonight as his administration struggles to muster United Nations support for military action to force Iraq to disarm."

So, will Dan Rather hire another actor to "translate" for us (as he did with the Hussein "interview")?

CLOTURE VOTE??? What CLOTURE VOTE?? OH NO!! Did the pubbies cave in!!

Nope. The're putting the 'Rats on record by forcing them to vote in public, repeatedly if necessary, against a fully-qualified Hipanic nominee.

Frist indicated that they will keep the nomination on the floor until Estrada gets an up or down vote.

Smart tactics. Strategery. It'll work, just watch.

I agree this is good to get out ahead of Blix.

And especially it take away momentum from the liberal by having a full blown press conference

The President can not issue any more "last chances" and still be respected.

I think most would agree ... the military are poised and good to go ... enough with the warnings and one more "last chance" crap.

I hope Helen Thomas is seated near the rear bathroom.

Sadly, the old bat will be on the right side of the front row, which is her "privilege" as the so-called "dean of the White House Press Corps," even though she hasn't written anything except opinion pieces for the past several years.

It's in the Eats Room because it's a press conference. Have you ever seen the Prez take questions from reporters in the Oval Office?

I know I've seen the Prez sitting next to some foreign dignitary and perhaps they took questions, but I don't know if it were in the Oval Office.

Oval Office usually is the Prez flying solo.

Press Conference implies reporters present and asking questions. Ergo, East Room.

Fox news is reporting that it will be a press conference, but who knows? We shall see at 8.

It IS a press conference, not a speech. This is not going to be the official announcement that Desert Storm II has begun.

"Bush may give final weapons ultimatum to Saddam"

My apologies, but if I hear one more "final ultimatum", I will have a hard time taking anything he says seriesly anymore. It's not doing him or our military any good. They are better off not saying anything. He got trapped in this because of his desire to appease his enemies and now they are beating him over the head with it.

Give me an announcement that bombing has begun or make this an Estrada speech to prove your multi-tasking abilities, just no more "final ultimatums". I am an extremely patient person but somebody has got to sh*t or get off the pot.

MSNBC has a different take on this announcement. They're saying Bush will "address the nation" at 8 p.m. Much more serious than a silly presser.

MSNBC Chyrons are saying it is indeed a presser.
