Who has signed on now?

What about the squawkers? If we said we had OBL before an Iraqi strike, wouldn't the Axis of Weasels start screeching that, with OBL in hand we don't need to continue? Unless it is too late and we are striking Saddamn immediately. How can they say that? The last I heard they didn't believe Saddam had anything to do with OBL. Actually, it might help finally get them to agree with us at the UN since Saddam and OBL's retaliatory terrorist attacks (which is what the Euros are really afraid of) would be much less likely to occur.

"The U.S. tried to get your support. Nobody can claim that we didn't make every effort possible effort to unite the U.N. on this issue. We pleaded, we begged, and it did not matter. So we went ahead anyway, and the world is a better place because of it. We were right."
He doesn't have to say it, but it will be obvious. Jam their noses right in it and make them inhale.
Hear, hear! We are not alone on this world, and it will go a heck of a lot smoother if we avoid alienating everyone else.

"I hope Helen Thomas is seated near the rear bathroom."
Well, it won't matter, since she is the poster child for Depends anyway. I'm sure she will be in an extra absorbent diaper.

We are already at work in Iraq. Special forces are in the North. Our air sorties have been destroying many Iraqi defenses...
The war started along time ago... the big offensive hasn't started... but, it will, when everything is ready.
We don't read the intelligence... We don't know what is holding us up, but when the time comes and not before we will go in.
So keep your pants on (as we say in these parts) and believe that this President knows what he is doing.

Sorry, the FR thread was the only confirmation I have seen so far.

I agree. Most likely this is to signal Iraq and the world that regardless of Blix and the Security Council, the war to end Saddam's aggression will begin in earnest this weekend.
They're reporting that trucks and supplies are now moving through Turkey to the south. Looks like it's all coming together as planned.

Actually, it might help finally get them to agree with us at the UN since Saddam and OBL's retaliatory terrorist attacks (which is what the Euros are really afraid of) would be much less likely to occur. Good thought and I hope you are right. My thoughts were that the Axis of Weasels seem to take every opportunity/excuse to try and stop us going after Iraq and would use an Osama capture to raise objections once again.

Hate to be a party pooper but I just checked all the news channels and none of them were talking about the topic of this thread. So how big a deal can this speech/conference be?

My thoughts: He will say that the U.S. has made a major capture in the war on terror/ and at the same time will tell the world that the U.S. is about to give Sadddam 72 hours to disarm or the U.S. will start a campaign to disarm him.

Maybe we'll be lucky and he will say the bombs started falling 30 minutes ago and we've had our first collateral damage which was the United Nations building.

Thank you! What excellent information! However you distracted me by your words and I pictured GWB on a great throne surrounded by laundry! LOL!
