What connection does North Korea have with Iraq other than a desire to see the US fail? They have offered Hussein sanctuary. If he accepts he can run the "Arab World" in exile.

FNC may have the 'fair and balanced' business down pat,
but they still got a ways to go in the 'here and accurate' department ...

As I said, there is not a single thing in fast moving, up-to-date, Japanese or Korean language news in East Asia at the moment. Yonhap, Choson Ilbo, KBS, YTN, Yomiuri, Kyodo, Sankei, Mainichi, NHK. Yahoo Japan. Yahoo Korea. Any development like that would no doubt appear there, first. (3:58 p.m. Eastern)

From the article:
Two MiG 29s and two other fighters believed to be MIG-23s intercepted the U.S. jet about 150 miles off the North Korean coast. One of the fighters "locked on" to the U.S. plane. The fighters shadowed the U.S. RC-135 for about 20 minutes. The plane returned safely to base in Japan.
The Mig-29 is a nice fighter, the 23 less so. Still, I doubt they fly them very often and they don't have very many. Our 16s and 18s will eat them for breakfast, the difference being maintenance, training, and skills.

The jerks (probably) took a story off Dow-Jones, and some young, green GenX cub reporter just out of J-school working the Fox editor's desk peed his/her pants and misinterpreted "intercepted" as "shoot down."
Man, this is amateur.
Watch the silence from Fox about apologizing over this.

More likely the Nimitz is just relieving the Lexington, which IIRD has been on station for something like 10 months now and needs to get back to port.
