there are rules for manipulating such objects

Ah, the intersection of science and politicians.

Evolutionists point to this as evidence for their theory but the new discoveries of the complexity of the process, and the fact that bacterial ribosomes are so similar to those in humans, is strong evidence against evolution. The complexities of cell replication must have been present at the beginning of life.

A simple explanation for the similarities of the basic building blocks can be found if one realizes that all life originates from a single "software house." He is awesome indeed!

I don't think this picture of the infant universe speaks to the issue of evolution. It does provide support for the "Big Bang" theory, which indicates there was indeed a moment of creation. I find this picture fascinating.

"It makes you wonder how much of Genesis this guy could read into his bowel movements if that was his bent."

That is the best line in this thread so far.

"And lo Jesus and the disciples walked to Nazareth. But the trail was blocked by a giant brontosaurus... with a splinter in his paw. And O the disciples did run a shriekin': 'What a big f*cking lizard, Lord!' But Jesus was unafraid and he took the splinter from the brontosaurus's paw and the big lizard became his friend.

"And Jesus sent him to Scotland where he lived in a loch for O so many years inviting thousands of American tourists to bring their fat f*cking families and their fat dollar bills.

"And oh Scotland did praise the Lord. Thank you Lord, thank you Lord. Thank you Lord."

Actually, it seems that you have an excellent understanding of Relativity! As you put it, photons are entirely massless, which is why they are able to travel at the speed of light. Although it's hard to say without seeing the NOVA program myself, I think what they're trying to say is that if all of the ENERGY carried by the photons were converted to MASS via E=MC^2, You would get about 8 pounds of ... stuff. That may not sound like a lot, but when you consider how tiny an amount of Uranium is actually converted to energy in an atom bomb, that's actually a HUGE amount of energy! Another way to think of it is that 8 pounds of stellar matter was actually lost in the production of the light in the sun. (Not 8 pounds of Hydrogen, 8 pounds of matter lost during the reaction converting Hydrogen to Helium) They're trying to illustrate this mass<-->energy concept.

Hope that cleared it up a bit!

Thanks. It did. I wish my physics teacher had such a high opinion of my cosmic understanding :)
