A felony stop involves a suspect and is a normal part of the job. It's not simply a cop walking up and randomly shooting someone. It's different from a guy wandering around a beach in an SUV.
I can't remember the last time I heard of a cop shooting someone just for the Hell of it.

Where does the Constitution prohibit the Dept of Education?
There were around 30,000 murders last year. Probably none of them were committed by the police. But some believe the greatest threat to their life is the police. People that ignorant scare me.

"After all, police are allowed to kill or maim anyone without any personal consequences ever."
I seem to recall a few years ago, when several police officers were accuited of charges that they had beaten a gentleman named Rodney King, that the double jeopardy rule was tossed, and they were tried again, convicted and sent to jail.
This was 'without personal consequences'?

Not only that, King was guilty of a crime(drunk driving) and attacked the policemen. But better to have drunk drivers than police. Police kill more innocent people than drunk drivers < /sarcasm >

"Is the Environmental Protection Agency constitutional?
Is the Department of Education constitutional?
Is the Drug Enforcement Agency constitutional? "
We the PEOPLE of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish JUSTICE (officer is innocent until proven guilty), insure Domestic Tranquility (why we need LEO's), provide for the Common Defense (War on drugs & terror), promote the general Welfare (Education is better than handouts), and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity (Our environment needs protection for our children, because, unlike as some folks think, there are EVIL people out there), do ordain and Establish this Constitution for the United States Of America.

In April 1999, another city vehicle ran over a pregnant woman on the beach at nearly the identical spot.
The woman, Lupe Eyde-Tucker, survived and gave birth, despite suffering a crushed pelvis, broken ribs and head injuries after being hit by a city beach patrol officer driving a Ford Bronco.
That is truly astonishing.

I don't undersatnd this attack on our Police officers. That is not to say that there are some, an extremely small minority, that are on a "power trip".
Is it the desire of Libertarians that the US becomes an Anarchistic State? For afterall, are not the overwelming majority of LEO's of this country, not on the State and Local level?

It's rather like (but not the same) as the people who claim the Jews bombed the WTC. They ignore reality in favor of a pre-conceived prejudice. A lot of people like to think the government is out to get them. It makes them feel important.
I dislike no-knock raids, redlight cameras and random searches but that doesn't mean I hate policeman. And I don't think the police are out to get me.

Good responses! Besides the suv ran them over not the officer, according to the PC, so-called, journalist.Maybe the French would change their tune if a fleet of SUV's were to invade their beaches cities and towns. Oh the humanities!
To: Cincinatus' Wife
You can't mean you believe the police blatently ran these women down?Nope - no deliberately - incompetently, negligently. Manslaughter not murder.

I dislike no-knock raids, redlight cameras and random searches but that doesn't mean I hate policeman. And I don't think the police are out to get me. Some of the tools used by the police are unconstitutional. Some of the police are on a power trip. All police are human, and make mistakes. All police are here to 'serve and protect'. I don't think they are out to get you either, they are out to get 'from occupied GA' & 'eno'.

LOL, And then, after their army surrendered, we'd have to come to the rescue again.BTW I have one of those 8mm rascals in my collection

Considering the obvious depths of your delusions, your opinions are moot.
To: uncbuck
All police are human, and make mistakes. And some like FEEB agents Brega and Hourouchi are killers who like nothing better than to shoot someone, yet face no consequences for their acts.
If you or I "make a mistake" and kill someone inadvertantly by running over them, we would be charged with negilgent homicide or manslaughter (and rightfully so) depending on the jurisdiction. This cop should be charged and tried likewise. He won't
All police are here to 'serve and protect'.
Oh sure. Well maybe you honestly believe this.
I don't think they are out to get you either, they are out to get 'from occupied GA' & 'eno'.
Yes we figured this out.
