"They have made a decision based on emotion, not logic."

Your statement was made based on emotion, not logic. LOL

"Creationists are literary critics. Evolutionists are scientists."

Kind of a broad brush you're using there. Similar to the antics of the left in painting all conservatives with the same brush.

All well, if it seems to work for the left, the evolutionists might as well try using it themselves.

That link goes to the stupidest article I have ever seen on the internet. Not just unintelligent, but full of obvious falsehoods. They make Gould sound like a evolutionist version of f.

Anyone who has read any of Gould's stuff or heard him lecture can tell that the alleged quotations are made up, and the characterization of his lecture style is false. Pure psychotic fantasy.

Sorry for mentioning that I dated the son of the petroleum geologist. I suppose I should have simply stated that I knew a petroleum geologist at one point in time.

The reason his profession is relevant is that petroleum geologists use the fossil record to find petroleum. Petroleum deposits are often found in association with certain geological formations that have certain fossils. Thus, this man made his living, and the living of quite a few people, by looking for fossils, yet he did not believe that these fossils were part of God's creation, but were created by the Devil.

I thought that was very strange.

However, not being his equal in age or status, I was not able to discuss it with him, so cannot shed any more light on what seems to me to have been an interesting case of cognitive dissonance.

Was this a humor site? If the article was a parody of creationism, I guess it just went over my head. But it sounds so much like some of the serious posters on FR.

Finding oil has little to do with understanding how rock formations originated. Engineers have a different mindset from scientists.

Ummm… No, this is an actual peer-reviewed article :-)

I guess it just went over my head. But it sounds so much like some of the serious posters on FR.

What?? Again??? ----But all those others were such great evidence!

Oh yeah, the basic concept remains true. It's only the particular facts that change.

The universe, which is not a living being, doesn't speak to us in words.

Most recently, some of the things that scientists have said about the universe are that it is approximately 13.7 billion years old; that the coldest known place in the universe, found in the Boomerang nebula, is only one degree warmer than absolute zero; that there is a massive black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy, surrounded, oddly, by very young stars.

Do all creationists believe that the Universe was created October 22, 4004 BC?

Just curious.

Some do; some don't. They all claim that their opinions are true.

Here is what happens when we let the crazies make our decisions for us. The forces of science must constantly be on guard against the superstitious.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/africa/02/21/health.congo.ebola.reut/index.html

You all heard me. The Creation story (even though there are really 2 of them in the Bible) is superstition. A myth that speaks to religious truths. I'm a spiritual guy, but I can't ever believe God created the world and made it so it would never change. We weren't put here like potted plants. The God I believe in is much larger than your feeble human concepts of making humans out of clay and ribs and breathing life into humans. Religion and science don't have to be enemies. I don't believe they are. It seems that f.Christian (where is my favorite crazy person?) and his crew believe they are though.

Sorry about posting from CNN.

Creation/God...REFORMATION(Judeo-Christianity)---secular-govt.-humanism/SCIENCE---CIVILIZATION!

Originally the word liberal meant social conservatives(no govt religion--none) who advocated growth and progress---mostly technological(knowledge being absolute/unchanging)based on law--reality... UNDER GOD---the nature of GOD/man/govt. does not change. These were the Classical liberals...founding fathers-PRINCIPLES---stable/SANE scientific reality/society---industrial progress...moral/social character-values(private/personal) GROWTH(limited NON-intrusive PC Govt/religion---schools)!

Evolution...Atheism-dehumanism---TYRANNY(pc/liberal/govt-religion/rhetoric)...

Then came the SPLIT SCHIZOPHRENIA/ZOMBIE/BRAVE-NWO1984 LIBERAL NEO-Soviet Darwin/ACLU America---the post-modern HYBRID (( half man // half dog )) age !
