While I have the truth... I don't suppose your "brand" of truth comes with facts to back them up, does it?
If it does, how about POSTING THE FACTS for all to see.

that this confirmation vote cannot be filibusteredWhen you say "this confirmation vote," are you referring to the one that would be required at the end of the year's recess appointment, or am I totally confused.

You know, it's hard to tell.
It depends on the sort of media coverage it's getting out west.

I Demand to know what Bush or others have done that was wrong, that was illegal, that was corrupt?
GO AHEAD AND TELL ME ONE DAMN FACT THAT OUR PRESIDENT
ONE OF THE GREATEST IN AMERICAN HISTORY
HAS DONE WRONG BECAUSE OF THE ENRON COMPANY.
GO AHEAD I HAVE 24 HOURS DO YOU?

I have to agree. I've heard all kinds of "Bush's Whitewater" stuff. Tell me, in plain English, what did he do?
This is looking more and more like a sick kind of desperation by the DemonRats. This is more of the stuff that was going on in 1994 after the Repubs got the majority in Congress.
The DemonRats have no plan, they're in disarray. Their only option is to go negative. The other side is mean, evil, and wants to take away everything you own and give it to some rich guy. All they can do is sling mud because they have no agenda to offer beyond the status quo.

NADA, ZIP, ZILCH.. And the worst part is.. they want him to answer to this in California so the three strikes law will count. Just shameless </sarcasm
The liberals are extremely gleeful thinking he is like Bubba. But they are really going to look partisan and EVIL for trying to bring down a good man. You know,.. President Bush Sr. was a good President. That something so simple as "No new taxes" could lose the presidency for him to Billie boy Clinton,.. is still just mind boggling. But we all saw what we got. A smooth talker.. who couldn't walk the walk. Our Military is making sure their sentiments are being felt regarding the CURRENT Commander in Chief. They love the heck out of him..and are willing to lay down their lives for him and this country. We really needed a man like him. It was getting really down in the dumps in the military. But not anymore :o)
This story will end up being about a bunch of crooks, who could have had a good relationship with the President. But found out that friendships mean NOTHING to President Bush when it comes to the law. The President doesn't mess around when it comes to carrying out the law. Just ask one Carla Faye Tucker.
Enron, made the mistake of thinking President Bush was going to help out like Clinton and Brown did. Again..... BIG mistake. These guys are going to jail. Trust me on this one. Ashcroft has already reclused himself. Smart move,..don't want an inkling of impropriaty. The ethics of this administration will prevail. Justice will be done..and others will know better than to try to repeat the same thing.
President Bush and his abled Cabinet and staff,.. have their hands full. God Bless them!!! They are busier than He**... but they will get it done right. I have total faith in them.

My opinion is you shoot from the hip without knowing all the facts, or just why a political strategy is implemented, or what the competing considerations and contraints are on the decision maker. Perhaps I am just getting too old, and too cautious, and too tolerant of those that have to make decisions on the ground. What I DO know is that Frist is on my team, even if not yours. He may make mistakes of judgment, in fact he almost certainly will over time, but I think he wants to go where I want to go by and large, and I will watch and wait, and not rush to judgement. That is simply my MO in approaching matters.

Bush Defends White House's Handling of Enron Crisis
BELLE, W.Va. (Reuters) -
President Bush on Tuesday defended the administration's handling of Enron Corp.'s collapse, declaring that the White House did ``the exact right thing'' and challenging critics to ``let me know'' about any allegations of wrongdoing.
``Our administration has done the exact right thing,'' Bush told reporters traveling with him in West Virginia.
snip
Bush noted a ``couple of contacts'' between members of his Cabinet and Enron executives, but said their response was, ``No help here.''
Bush said anyone with ``an accusation about some wrongdoing just let me know.''

OK, I'll admit to not really getting the senates rules.
Now what I'm wondering is this (hey I try to live with the saying there's no such thing as a stupid question) ...the repubs would have 49 senators on the floor, if they should get the 60 votes to end the 'filibuster' and bring about the vote on Estrada they could lose there, right?
So could the dems end a filibuster (call for the vote?) themselves? I don't remember if I've seen this actually explained clearly, is the opposing party the only one who can call for a cloture vote? If either party can call for one, then I can understand why the REpubs decided to wait til they are sure they'll have the majority vote if the filibuster should end.
Of course they'd be dumb if they voted to end the filibuster, BUT (knew I'd think of one, sorry) if the dems voted to end the filibuster and the repubs voted not to who do you think would get blamed for stopping goverment business? and it'd all be there in the vote. Sounds like a damned if you do and damned if you don't type of thing when you think of it this way. (looking back at the gov. shut down and who took the blame, it looks like this might be a clinton way of doing business)
I think I need a tin foil hat.
