You can also generate a letter with your rep/senator already automatically listed at www.usfa.biz.
Here we have an orange alert, with the best advice our wonderful leaders can give us for protection is to buy plastic and duct tape, and a bunch of fat busybodies are not focusing on keeping us alive, but deciding what we can use to boost memory, delay aging, and build muscle.
Oh yeah, but you can have all the booze and cigarettes you want.

"Food supplements", which are chemicals, should be held to the exact same standards as any other medicine such as tylenol or aspirin. It is time ALREADY that congress stepped up to this plate. The "chemical supplement" industry is so out of control and so anecdotal.

Sorry, you completely misunderstand the point. The concept is to ensure that these substances will become illegal, thus "dealers" will spring up to meet the demand. Then the WOD warriors can go after them.
Follow the money.

Yup it's so out of control that you can't choose yourself what's good for you.

Time to call my rep on this. I used to take Andro, and while I do not recommend it, it's not for the government to decide.
To: Kay
If you feel that way, move to canada or europe, where you need a doctors prescription to purchase vitamin c, dhea and other supplements.
That you claim to be a conservative, while seeking MORE government control speaks volumes about the leftist infiltration of this site.

Why stop there?
"Food" which are actually chemicals...
...and on and on and forever ad infinitum.
No, there is no other name for this but Tyranny.

Instead of Congress taking away what we have, why don't we start taking some of them out of congress, and voting in some human beings?

You got that wrong. You can get meds so readily in other countries. Antibiotics, viagra, BP meds----all without an RX. The U.S. has a good and careful history for medicine. We are the "mecca" for medical care. All the rich and famous come to us to be treated when it matters. Why do you think that is?

This would be the unbiased view of the Life Extension Foundation?

Ever seen a kid on too much sugar? Some do truly go bonkers. If legislation like this comes to pass, then it isn't unreasonable that particular food consumption (such as "sugar suppliments") will be regulated, too. Violations punishable by law.
Passing laws to regulate something because you "think" it is inherently harmful, well, that's going too far.
And as another has said, we have much larger fish to fry. Somebody's trying to slip this law under the door, while our attention is elsewhere.

DHEA Grow your own. It comes from Japanese yams.
(Why the hell do I always know all this weird stuff?)

Of course, that is a consideration... but everybody has a bias to peddle. Carry a grain of salt at all times, y'know?
