What was the "additional investigation" that prompted the delayed citation? What evidence was discovered in that investigation?

Steve was not cited but two days later all hell broke loose and speculation started running wild and it appears they went back to the police report and doctored it up a bit. Is that legal? After a report is filed to change it or add to it? Well, that's what happened. I think Steve's enemies got wind of it and had a party and field day. Mayor of Fresno and Shawn Steele (CA GOP Chair) decided not to rush to judgment but 5 local GOP leaders WHO HATE STEVE'S GUTS called for his resignation before you could spit in the wind. What a circus; you have no idea. I'll try and keep you posted. Thanks for keeping an open mind. For victory & freedom!!!

If you'll allow me some reasonable skepticism - the only thing I know about the assemblyman is what I've read on this thread.

I don't want to question your honesty nor your confidence in the congressman - and I don't put it past some of these slimeballs in politics to make the most out of a U-turn, to say nothing of getting lost! But...IF a person were actually caught "cruising", wouldn't they say they were asking directions or something like that? Why would a policeman file a report for giving someone directions to the Farm Bureau? Is that standard procedure in Fresno?

What is the foundation of your confidence in the man? (I'm having a tough time here, trying to satisfy my skepticism without being obnoxious.) Is there anybody that helps give creedence to his story? Anybody that gives weight to the patrolman's story? Is the police department THAT politicized?

And most importantly - why would his mentor turn on him? Or not believe his answers?

Thanks, I hope I don't wear you out with my questions. I'm skeptical, but I still open minded.

Now two weeks ago he got lost trying to find the Farm Bureau (don't laugh; it's true) and he pulled into a gas station to ask for directions.

Saundra, that is not what the police report says happened. Only two parties can say what happened that night, the officers and Steve. Are you saying you believe the officers are lying?

LOL, Saundra??? What's funny is your pathetic defense of this guy.

---Samuelian...
1.) Was convicted of/and admitted to being a pervert in the past.
2.) Claimed to be going to the Farm Bureau at 10PM!! to "drop off fliers".
3.) Claimed to be lost but according to non-biased sources had been to the Bureau on numberous occasions(as a Dist. Director for Radonovich & his own career)and is likely the reason Radonovich pulled his support-he knows the "lost" story is a LIE!
4.) Claimed to be unaware it was a known area where prostitutes hang out -- but oops, that's where he was arrested for solicitation the last time!

The list goes on and on....

I am so disappointed in you Saundra. I thought you were one of us, not one of those NOW women who willingly put on blinders for Clinton because "he's our scumbag". Well no, Samuelian is not MY scumbag and I will NOT defend his immoral acts. I'd expect the person who led the charge against Condit to have a better moral compass. Your hypocrisy makes us all look bad.

You're gonna just love the latest story. They found Steve Samuelian's pimp! I suppose you're going to believe that, too. Like I said - LOL! For victory & freedom!!!

Okay fine Saundra. Just so I'm clear on your position - Do you believe he was soliciting a prostitute the first time he was arrested, plead guilty, served his probation, and apologized to his family and friends?

And if you do believe that, do you think Samuelian is the type of person we should have in Fresno representing the Republican party and conservative values?

Just so I understand where you are coming from...Do you consider yourself a conservative? or more of a party loyalist type?

The previous incident happened five years ago; he plead guilty and paid a $500 fine, went to a school, and the incident was not on his record. Oh, and he apologized to everyone.

I am not a party loyalist, obviously; there are many Republicans I can't stand!

The reason I'm defending Steve Samuelian is because he didn't do anything wrong this time. WHAT DO YOU THINK HE DID?! His wife knew about the box of flyers for the Farm Bureau. Oh, what's the use; you've made up your mind. The holier-than-thou crowd is out of control in the Republican Party. If this keeps up, there will be no one left to run for any office. Jesus Christ wouldn't be fit.

The latest outrages are the obscene blow up doll that radio pranksters delivered to Steve's district office and the story TV 47 was doing about how they found Steve's pimp. See what's happened? I guess this makes you happy - the more wild accusations the better. Do you really think this is constructive use of our time?

The budget crisis is looming.

Did you see the letter to the editor in today's Fresno Bee from the Cavanaugh's? It must be nice to be perfect.

His wife corroborates his story, the budget crisis is looming.

Your arguments/excuses sound eerily familiar. Along the lines of: This is just about sex...it's time to move on...it's a political witchhunt...let him get on with the peoples' business...if Hillary doesn't care, why should we??

I'm not trying to attack you Saundra, I just really want you to listen to what you are saying.

"WOW",......sounds like something right out of the liberal media.

I, for one, feel that conduct spells CHARACTER, regardless of party.

I couldn't agree with you more. Steve drove down a street. Is that a crime? He asked for directions at a gas station. Is that a crime? It's just that people are trying to imagine what Steve was THINKING and only God knows that. For victory & freedom!!!

News flash - Steve Samuelian is officially NOT GUILTY OF ANYTHING! Let's see if the "dirty five" Republicans will publicly apologize to Steve, his friends, family and constituents. As for me, I'm not holding my breath; the "dirty five" put too much effort into the witch hunt. Funny how they demanded Steve's resignation but left Nicole Parra alone (she's the Assembly member who bought/stole her Assembly seat). Oh, silly me, I forgot; she's a democrat. The "dirty five" will only go after fellow Republicans. Anyway, I'm glad this is over and Steve can be left alone to get back to the business of SAVING OUR STATE!!!!!!! For victory & freedom!!!

Please read my post #34 and then apologize. Steve Samuelian was not charged and this was all a huge media circus and GOP witch hunt. Disgusting! They shook up the whole Valley FOR NO REASON except political greed and intrigue. I'm going to be pissed for a long time. It would help if the five high-level Republicans would apologize but don't hold your breath. Too much pride and they enjoy stabbing certain Republicans in the back. No wonder California is so screwed up!

Steve Samuelian never did anything wrong and yet he was vilified in the press and in GOP circles. The democrats are oh so happy when Republicans behave this way. Sheeesh. Just think of the valuable time wasted. Oh, well . . . see you tomorrow night at Shaw & Blackstone, boss. For victory & freedom!!!

That sort of no-nonsense response from this fool's Republican collegues is one of the biggest reasons why I respect/trust conservatives to do the right thing.

Please read my post #34 and then apologize. Thanks. For victory & freedom!!!

OK, I'll apologize for believing that Samuelian was guilty before he was ever charged with anything. In view of the fact that he was caught a few years back doing the sort of thing that was alleged recently, well, it made me very suspicious. (Think Scott Ritter. Think Clinton. Think Packwood.)

Hopefully, a similar incident will not occur in the future, causing the guy to have to explain himself all over again--and I mean this with all due sincerity. If I were him, I'd double check my traveling itinerary and try to have a companion/witness driving with me at night (at least for a period of time) just to keep the gossips and enemy framers at bay.
