What I don't understand is how they even knew what my bank was or how they could use the card against my bank account!
My Mastercard is with MBNA and my bank account is Washington Mutual and I don't even have a charge card through the bank.

This is just terrific, really peachy keen, until /1/ All paper money is phased out. And
/2/ You piss off your local oligarchy and they freeze your electronic accounts.
Welcome to the Brave New World, unperson.
This is what I've been saying all along. It will be "sold" in this country as a way to fight crime and terrorism, and the sheeple will lap it up. It's even convenient. When the authorities decide to shut you down, they will even have a phone number you can call to turn yourself in when you get hungry. There will be plenty of food in the camps.
Make no mistake about it,THIS will be the sign that revolution is neccessary NOW. The day the US gooberment announces that we are going to a cashless society is the day I pick up my rifle and go into politics. If you wait until they implement it,you won't be allowed to buy ammunition.

Of course this makes sense, a spineless society wants a cashless society in case they get robbed from one of their own in a gunless society.

the only thing I can guess is you used that bank account to pay the credit card, perhaps? ... and so, when they saw a debit transaction, they used that as a "link" ... I'd love to hear how they explain it, though!
