These guys are complete lunatics. Reality doesn't exist there. How do you communicate with people who are completely paranoid and whipping themselves into a suicidal frenzy? This looks worse everyday and could trump Iraq if these nutters decide to carry out their fantasies of destruction.

Well, 1 Trident submarine, 24 empty tubes, and Korea a smoking, flaming, irradiated ruin from the 38th Parallel to the Yalu.
And now, it's MILLER TIME!

North Korea is entitled to launch a pre-emptive strike against the US rather than wait until the American military have finished with Iraq, the North's foreign ministry told the Guardian yesterday. This is like a giant game of spades where NK doesn't quite realize the rules. North Korea thinks it's got a good hand with a couple of jacks, kings and queens in hearts, diamonds and clubs and a 2 of spades. The seem to forget that America is the one holding the A,K,Q,J,10,9,8, and 7 of spades ....
They may win a few points at the start but America is most certainly going to win with nuclear spades.

What parts of the US could the N. Koreans hit if at all?

The only problem with that scenario is we'll have to wait for the nutters to do something really stupid to justify the response. They seem completely capable of it too.

North Korean officials fear the extra forces are the start of the build-up for a full-scale confrontation - a dangerous assumption that could push the peninsula over the edge. They don't fear that, unless the mean a confrontation that they are planning on starting. They know full well the difference between America reinforcing their defensive lines, and America preparing an invasion.
I think it's safe to say that North Korea has lost the element of suprise. The PR battle is in full rout. Their chances against a fully awake and ready ROK military aren't good, even before we can bring our guns to bear. They can't be that stupid.. can they?
To: Poohbah
Not only that, there's only two or three worthwhile targets there so popping off 24 missiles is a waste of resources.

If NK is dumb enough to do a first strike on the US then they are going to experience first hand what it's like to life in a radioactive crater.
Ahh, what the hell, we have microwave bombs, let's go ahead and use them. Let's just take out all of the technology on the northern half of the korean peninsula to ensure they don't try anything.
