I'd rather they spent their pointless efforts on cleaning up the odd bits in PATRIOT/killing TIA etc. But what the heck, Ron's gotta be irrelevant somehow, might as well be this.

Administrations message keeps changing- six months ago, their case hinged on regime change, three months ago it was Saddam thwarting inspections, three weeks ago it was possible possession of chemical weapons, today its tenuous terrorist links. If the case was clear, it would have been clear from day one. They confuse the "administration's message" with the fickle interests of itinerant news cycles. Additionally - they're Congressmen - why are they concerned about the "message" rather than the facts as they see them? It seems to be deflective reasoning on their part.

Wait till we finish off Saddam and turn towards N. Korea. Then the RATS will scream we can't attack N. Korea, look at Iran, it's worse!

DEFAZIO MAKES ME ILL!
I'm ashamed for all of Oregon now, I remember seeing him standing with the Mayor of Portland and a bunch of other liberal pant loads a while back and proudly proclaiming that they can not support a resoultion in suport of our efforts in Iraq, made my want to barf all over myself. It was so sad to see them slap the service member's families one more time before they shipped out. Must be hard to keep your spirts high with these turds at home undermining your every step.
I hope the good voters in Oregon remember all of this next election.

Bush should ask for a Declaration of War.
That would put a stop to all this nonsense.

When Ron Paul speaks, Freepers would be wise to listen.

Bush will ask Congress to declare war.bookmark this. I hope he does. Personally, I don't think re-authorization is a bad idea. If it comes to a vote, I am confident that a delaration of war against Iraq would pass. What's wrong with doing it this way?

Absolutely nothing.
As I have posted previously, the issue is not so much whether Bush has the power to order the military into action-it is whether Congress has the responsibility to cast their lot, in the form of a recorded vote, with our troops and the actions they (and we) will be called on to take in this war.
If Congress does not declare war, they will be free to piss and moan on the sidelines, as if it has nothing to do with them.
However, in our Constitutional system, they are us-our soldiers, sailors, and marines deserve no less than a war declaration from us to support them.
And a war declaration from us can only come from Congress.

Ron Paul? This sounds more like the agenda of Ru Paul!

"I hope the good voters in Oregon remember all of this next election."
Unlike most knee-jerk liberals in the House, Peter DeFazio does not represent an overwhelmingly liberal district--Bush actually carried it over Gore in 2000. The City of Eugene is liberal as Hell, but most of the rest of the district is fairly conservative. DeFazio has been around forever, and thus would be tough to take out, but it CAN be done. Same goes for Darlene Hooley in the 5th District (who may actually retire, making it an even easier pick-up in 2004).

Lets hear it from the, "vote for anyone with an R in front of his name", crowd.
