Powell is, First and Foremost a Soldier. I don't think he is declassifying ANYTHING, that would put an asset in harms way unecessarily.
This has been a whole shuck and jive right from the git go, and only the Media does not infer the obvious points that the President
A. Would not go out of his way to alienate the Highest Ranking, Most Publicly respected Black person in his Administration (unless you think He is politically Stupid{He isn't})
or...
B. has played this hand out to it's logical conclusion along the good cop/ bad cop scenario as suggested, with Powells cooperation from the git go.(Unless you dont think he is bright enough {He Is}).

Powell Bush and the Rumster all knew the earliest D-Day was 02/XX/03.
Bush used the time to give the UN a chance to redeem itself as he said in his UN speech. The only difference was that Powell thought the UN could come through, and Bush/Rumsfeld doubted it.
Today Powell joins the hawks.

I just love Churchill's quote about appeasers and pacifists . . .
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
One more that has nothing to do with this thread but Churchill's words still ring true today . . .
"Britain and France had to choose between war and dishonor. They chose dishonor."
At least the French are consistent, huh?

I enjoyed the link. Thank you.
There is a wonderful picture of Dubya, Powell, and the rest of the cabinet in the 2/10/03 edition of Time. The headline reads "The Burden of Proof." I tried to find it on Time.com, but I was unsuccessful. Our leaders are bowed in prayer as they prepare for a cabinet meeting. Dubya's hands are pressed to his face. When I saw that picture, I showed it to my husband and said, "The weight of the world is on that poor man's shoulders and he knows it."
If anyone can find that picture and post it, they should. It is well worth sharing.
