Ha! I heard that! Now I want to know how you keep those lights from getting all torn up by the wind and the weather? I see lights up all year, but I don't know how they are secured. I never do lights (my neighbors must suspect that I am not Christian, but nothing could be farther from the truth) because they are a lot of trouble and don't work all the time.
What's your secret?
Also, do you have a secret for getting them really straight? Is there some kind of little holder clip that people use?
It's a relatively small string of icicle lights (one or two packs worth, it's hard to remember because it's been sooooo long since I put them up) that are stapled to the small roof that shelters the front door. We used the type of staples you hammer over a wire, not the type that come from a gun. They don't get torn up in the wind because they're just kinda hanging down in the air and can swing back and forth in the gusts.
So, sorry, don't have any advice for keeping them straight, either.
