Well, yeah, obviously. IF there aren't any left. Of course, humans haven't had much luck in killing every single coyote in a given area, and even when that happens, more coyotes move into the unclaimed territory. It's very frustrating.

Special bowhunts for deer in populated areas works pretty well too. But we have the bleeding hearts standing in the way. Boo hoo! I'd rather watch them starve and buy my meat at the store where I don't have to deal with the reality of death!

I live in a very liberal suburb. But the liberals get sick of having their BMWs totalled by deer, so there is bow and gun hunting here several times a year, even in developed areas. Hardly makes a dent in the deer population, though.

hunting deer in populated areas is tough - people don't realize patterning them is totally different than elsewhere. I haven't tried it but I have been reading about people who have.

BTW you would think that people dispatching rabbits and squirrels would make an even smaller dent since there are so many more than there are predators... but somehow I've managed. The damage is much less around our house than it was when we first moved here. The animals learn the area is dangerous. I watch them actually skirt my yard sometimes.

You obviously have smarter squirrels than I do. Mine haven't learned a darn thing. Mine're probably liberal squirrels.

OMG! That is him! That is who I saw! It was right on the road that runs in front of my property.

My dogs bark allot lately (past couple months) and never have been barker at just nothing..must have coyote and deer around.

My property is lit up at night with floods will that keep animals away or attract?

Nah,....didn't say kill ALL the varmints, just the ones that are raining on your parade: the coyote or fox that's killing your puppies or chickens. If you ever spent time with country folk, you'd know what I mean. I doubt that you have, evidenced by your response. S'Okay.

Share this world with the rest of creation...so, if a family of mice move into your house, are you just gonna let them procreate and turn into a thousand mice, all in the name of "sharing" ??

Have you ever seen what can happen if mice/rats overun a house? I have, brother, and it's not pretty. By the way, the owner of the house, a Christian lady who who meant well, thought like you do, was finally glad to have someone else come in and kill the HUNDREDS of mice that overran her house.

We are supposed to take DOMINION over creation...and control it. It's the Lord's gift...and it's a beautiful thing.

That's why I like my 165lb Irish Wolfhound. I just him go out play with the coyotes around,....they never seem to pester us anymore. My next project is to train my pet falcon to fetch me longnecks. ;^)

An update to all who are interested. I live in Riverside, and have a small dog, so I'm interested in this story. Someone did finally set a trap for the coyote: a padded leg trap. It caught a coyote, who then managed to rip the trap out of the ground. It's been seen for the last several days dragging around the leg clamp. Fish and Game officials have been unable to locate the coyote so they can kill it.
