I live in Detroit and watch the CBC 10 o'clock news for the same reason I watch Ellen Ratner. Both make me see how wacky they are and how correct I am in my thinking. God Bless Mark Steyn and America.

It is possible to communicate during re-entry but not by radio. During one of the Gemini missions they experimented with a laser to maintain the comm link but never used it in Apollo. I'm not sure if the shuttle is fitted with the technology but it is available.

Fire the witch! Dream on- at the CBC they'll fire you if you don't engage in yank-bashing at every opportunity. Fortunately, nobody outside the civil service and academia actually watches the CBC so her comments weren't noticed by anyone who matters.
