The only thing surprising about this is that Jimy Cartar wasn't there. He drops in from time to time to bask in the beauty of Castro's paradise.

"Pulling it all together, what we have right here in our own country are all of the ingredients necessary for a totalitarian police state. We have a federal government that nobody in his right mind would trust, which lies to us incessantly, uses illegal force against its citizens with impunity, and collaborates with totalitarian dictators under cover of a massive propaganda campaign conducted by our supposedly free press. Our major information media are dominated by closet totalitarians who pay lip service to democracy while covertly promoting the interests of communist despots. The political opposition is made up largely of cowards who are so intimidated by our totalitarian propaganda media they are unable to offer effective resistance to even the most egregious violations of civil liberties by the corrupt Clinton regime. They have become, in the fullest sense of the term, Weimar Republicans."
"And finally, we have that which makes it all possible, a listless, docile, dumbed-down public who gape mindlessly at all of the above phenomena without the slightest glimmer of comprehension, and prattle the latest propaganda cliches dumped into their empty heads by the mainstream media."
"The Elian affair has truly given us a... glimpse---into the abyss of tyranny."
"The message that comes through loud and clear is that the system isn't working. The question that remains to be answered is whether we still possess the intelligence and fortitude necessary to fix it."

Hundreds of people took part in the March of the Torches, which started at the university of Havana, in honor of the birthday of Jose Marti, National Hero of Cuba, in Havana, on Monday, Jan. 27, 2003. This year is the 150th anniversary of Marti's birth. (AP Photo/Cristobal Herrera)

Not fully, but the Lord of the Rings tale is about Power, its uses and abuses.
Some of us believe that centralized Government is the "Road to Serfdom", especially given the reality that those 'representatives" at the UN often represent nothing more than brigand and bandit dictators ruling un-free peoples.
This is then a cartel of Governments.
We who believe in freedom should oppose centralized Government and should aim to either abolish the UN or reform it so that it is a gathering to bring together a Confederation of Sovereign States and Peoples.
Only on the basis of the inalienable rights and freedoms of people within sovereign nations can the UN be an asset to our higher aspirations. For that vision to become reality, we will have to fight those who constantly want to ordain the UN with the "Ring of Power" (power to tax, power to raise armies and conduct war, power to judge and jail, power to set rules and laws).
Note that the exact same thing is happening on the EU level in Europe, a battle between freedom and central government.
.... then again, I could be wrong.
