You're right. O'Reilly is entitled to his opinion on the acting talents of people like Clooney and Baldwin, but I really don't see what he's basing his opinion on. Baldwin's best role was as a Tom Clancy character, and Clooney is more of a TV star/buffoon than anything else. Look at his credits: George Burnett on Facts of Life, the voice of Dr. Gouache/Dr. Doctor on South Park, Doug Ross in ER, Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman and Robin, Billy Tyne in the Perfect Storm (in which he did decent work but nothing memorable). Heston, OTOH, could deal both these guys cards in spades as an actor. Look at his range and depth: Moses, Ben Hur, Richelieu, Buffalo Bill, Andrew Jackson, El Cid, Michelangelo, John the Baptist, Marc Antony, George Taylor (Planet of the Apes). Just ask for an actor to play any larger-than-life character and Charlton Heston is the go-to guy. I may be wrong, but I'm more impressed with Heston's resume than Clooney or Baldwin put together. And, of course, from a political viewpoint, Heston again wipes the floor with these mugs...
