Conservatives across Oregon need to be awakened!!!
This news item is very disturbing. An under-the radar campaign mounted by lefties, based mostly on fear and lies (cops will be fired, criminals will be let out, children will go hungry) has fooled the sheeple of Oregon.
Oregon will be the first state in the country to pass a tax hike. What is worse, this asinine measure will increase both income and corporate tax rates, thereby guaranteeing a further increase in unemployment.

Public employees trying to redistribute the wealth to keep government big.

Well, we have about the same thing in Texas, except in our case we aren't raising any taxes, we just have GOPers introducing bills to raise 'fees' and apply the sales tax to items it has not covered before (OTC/Prescription drugs).

Stop Union Corruption Keep
Oregon Free Forever
It's way past time we need to stop these criminals from robbing us all.
Break up all public employee unions now.

Well, I could be dead wrong (actually I thought I was wrong, once, but I was mistaken).
I can't see this working -- as much as the reporter seems to desperately hope it will.

When people are going to view the government as being the big tit they are not going to be able to vote on the basis of conscience but rather only for self interest.
To: Karsus
Around here, a "fee" is a tax, but the pols will not admit it. Our fees are going up yet again, but the sheeple are equally dumb.

You should hear our "newscasters" here in Oregon. You would think the sky is falling if we don't pay more taxes to "put Oregon temporarily back on its feet". No I'm NOT kidding...

Big Oregon ping! What frosts my shorts is that the
Oregonian has been pushing this so hard. The covert propoganda from their pages has been quite amazing.
The USSR and Pravda would be proud...

There were three no votes from my family.
Any bets on how Multnomah County votes? This has turned into a Portland Metro area vs the rest of the State issue.

There is nothing covert about the Oregonian, the are right up front about their position, tax, tax, tax
If there is a joke in the whole measure 28, it`s that the Rats and the green wackos have killed business so much, the Oregonian has got to be losing ad revenue big time

We never got ballots and I don't know why. We registered as soon as we moved here. I'll have to find out how to vote so I can vote "NO". When is the deadline?
To: vikingcelt
Deadline is this Monday, Jan 27.

Oh, just remain calm.
AG Ashcroft will just invalidate it should it pass. That's what he does to all voter passed referenda in Oregon, isn't it?
