If Scott were not guilty he would be calling a press conference of his own. But where is he? Still hiding behind mommy and daddy? Maybe it was my imagination but it sure seemed to me that he was actively avoided being simply photographed in the beginning ... and hiding under his hat. But many people (maybe most) find it hard to look another person straight in the eye and lie. Everytime the camera catches him he averts his eyes. Maybe it means nothing ... but ...

Petersons are expected to release a statement at any moment. MSNBC

Not that I think a racial issue was part of this sad tale at all, but sp looks partly Hispanic/ Mexican (as you say) to me. I don't know if you have been following this story closely but from all accounts the families apparently got along very well together. Until the Rochas suspected SP had been err "less than honest" with them.

If Scott did kill his wife, and if it was premeditated, the fact that he didn't wait until his son was born would speak volumes about the kind of "man" he is. Even if he accidentally killed her during an argument, if he had gotten medical help immediately, his son probably could have lived.
Again emphasizing IF Scott did it, this is something vastly different, and more evil, than when a mother or father snaps, kills thier child/kids and (often) themselves. It would mean that, after making the baby and waiting until he was almost full term, Scott deliberately and calculatingly denied his own child a chance at life.

Scott Peterson hit the showers at his Country Club here in Modesto after shooting a respectable 9 over par 81. He and OJ would make like-minded golf buddies!

the scenario in which your son/daughter is NOT murdered.

If abortion isn't murder, how could the death of a child in utero be murder even when the mom is murdered? Pure contradiction in the law, if it is so.In Ohio you can be charged and convicted of manslaughter/murder if you kill an unborn child (not sure how far along the pregnancy has to be). It happened in Cincinnati just a couple years ago. That's why the pro abortion people fight so hard to keep this from becoming law where ever they can, IMO.
In the case in Cincy, the mother wasn't killed but the baby was. It was a case of road rage. I forget if the woman that caused the accident was convicted of manslaughter or murder.

As I noted, it's a pure contradiction in the law. If life is not considered in the law to begin until birth (which is what Roe v. Wade is based on), how can one commit manslaughter or any degree of murder if one kills a fetus in utero?

Thank you. I'll go over to the site.

Keep your eye on the money. Check out Scott's fertilizer business. This was a family with financial problems w/ first baby on the way. Money problems and other "issues" made Scott Peterson snap. All my humble opinion of course.

Many states have a law that will recognize an unborn child as a murder victim IF the child was viable outside the womb at the time of death. Every state is different, but many in many states if you kill an 8-month pregnant woman, you can be charged with, maybe not exactly 2 counts of murder, but let's just say that the laws in many states have a provision for unborn babies who would have been viable outside the womb at the time of death.

The suffering of both parents must be overwhelming. I absolutely died watching the Rocha's but I feel for the Peterson family too. The guilt and horror knowing that your child could murder his pregnant wife and then contemplating a death sentence for your son - How Awful.

It's a plausible scenario. Not only a family with financial problems w/ first baby on the way, but a social-climbing ($25,000 country club membership) family with financial problems w/ first baby on the way, PLUS a husband who juggles a wife AND girlfriends simultaneously, PLUS a hefty life-insurance policy on the wife.

CA law provides for murder of 'fetus' (that's baby to the rest of us) to be charged separtately from the death of the mother.

So was the demeanor of Laci's family markedly different from previous appearances on the news? Maybe they really have been told of evidence that indicates she's dead.
