I agree, "dad" (hubby) works his butt off around this house helping out when he can also. But we appreciate him(visa-versa), and this is why I will be more successful than any FemaNazi when it comes to ANY meaningful relationship.
Fortunately, both of us aren't very concerned with the sex bashing towards the opposite sex in commercials and ads. (anti-male OR anti-Female)
To: GrandMoM
Some view it as being proud of ones gender. A person can do that without bashing the opposite sex. Now if someone wants to interpret it in that way, that's ok. But that doesn't mean the intensions of the person wearing that shirt has changed.
Now if it said, "Boys Suck, Girls Rule", or actually mentioned the male sex negatively, I would have to agree with the author.

40+ year old women usually dont have that option.....a hmmm.... don't be so sure, I know a lot of 40+ women with younger men.

When reading the article, I was also wondering how old that example was as well. (not saying that it is invalid of course)

"Young ladies are wearing T-shirts with the slogan: Girls Rule." So?
The next line is: "...and Boys Drool."

Not on the shirts I or the author have seen, But I'm sure those shirts could be out there as well. But I wasn't commenting on the females that wear those shirts you mentioned. I can only speak for the young girls that I know that wear the T-shirts the author mentioned.
To: KineticKitty
"Young ladies are wearing T-shirts with the slogan: Girls Rule."
So? Girls Rule; Boys Drool - is the whole slogan.
So? - YOU SAY?!
Why would anyone wear such a shirt? Should the boys start wearing shirts saying "Boys Rule, Girls are to Screw". You don't see anything wrong with divisive chauvinist language on a kid's T-shirt?

"And I'm sitting there thinking 'You know, if there are more men than women throughout history then it's NORMAL for a man's voice to change and ODD that women's voices don't drop.'
Actually, I think the population of women has almost always been higher than the population of men. But your point is understood anyway.

lol..."Totally"....that should be "totally".

Great article. However, it is a paraphrase on the chapter about "Male Bashing" in James Dobson's latest book on how to raise boys...

Referring back to my #42 post =
"Now if it said, "Boys Suck, Girls Rule", or actually mentioned the male sex negatively, I would have to agree with the author" Did the shirt that the author mentioned say anything negative about boys? No. There are girls that do not buy into the spin off slogan of "girls rule" that a few of you know, and because there was an addition that was created and added onto this slogan, DOES NOT mean that they support it.
How people can assume another's intentions are is amazing to me, I know some of these girls, and they do not buy into what some are claiming they do by simply by wearing these T-shirts. Their shirts say "girls rule" Not "girls rule, boys drool". So I am not going to assume they are making a sexist remark or that I know their intentions if a sexist spin off was created off of the slogan on their T-shirt.
"Boys Rule, Girls are to Screw". You don't see anything wrong with divisive chauvinist language on a kid's T-shirt?
Yes. But note that your "what if" specifically mentions and degrades another sex unlike just "girls Rule", so the person wearing that T-shirt is making a definitive sexist statement at that point.

To: KineticKitty
Gee, that was kind of 'in your face' wasn't it. It's an insult to the opposite sex making them the 'subjects' of the 'rule'. Plan and simple truth.
To: disclaimer
Same response to girls rule. So?
Or would you like me to assume what you specifically mean?

They probably wear the gay rainbow as well to show suport for the left, but not really support them either. I think I'm understanding you now.
