Actually, 40% vote Redemopublicrat, now commonly known as the Statist Superparty. A small percentage vote third party, and the rest don't vote.

Those idiots up at Marinette Marine went on strike today. Unemployed all over the place, companies threatening to leave, these people go on strike....

"60% said eff it."That is most definitely not a problem. Most of those people dont pay attention to politics enough to understand the issues at hand so when they do vote they vote with emotion for the side with the best pr. Why do you think D's are always behind the "get out the vote" crap?

In Alaska, where the gov't has been paying negative taxes to its residents for several years via the PFD, the new governor, Murkowski is proposing some real taxes now, and the PFD itself may go away, and there might be a token reduction in state spending. There won't be an income tax right away, but a combination of other taxes, user fees as they are called, will add somewhat to revenue. Still the budget won't be balanced. If the taxes are accepted as necessary and inevitable, they will be increased in the future. Freeloaders in the state will find their 6 cars and 8000 square foot houses more difficult to support. Also, travellers and other migrants will find the state less fruitful. We're going to have to pay our way. Bummer, dood.
